It's still HockeyTown! The Stanley Cup Final was the last kick in the crotch to Motor City. This once powerful city can now take on its true name "City of Losers".
you live in vancouver and you call them the city of losers? did you forget who won 4 of the last 12 cups? The Stanley Cup Final was the last kick in the crotch to Motor City. This once powerful city can now take on its true name "City of Losers".
Not to mention that 80% of the people in Detroit don't even follow hockey. What a moron.
Actually, the Red Wings have long been one of the best American teams for attendance. It sagged a bit this season, but that had more to do with the economy than anything. Detroit's one of the places that were hardest hit by the recession. I know it's very Canadian to bash American hockey fans, but there are some places where it does very well and Detroit is one of them. This isn't Phoenix or Nashville we're talking about, where they can give tickets away and people won't show up.I don't think most people in Detroit even know they have a good hockey team. The city itself sucks, but the team doesn't.
Good god...The Stanley Cup Final was the last kick in the crotch to Motor City. This once powerful city can now take on its true name "City of Losers".
Exactly. There's a big difference between cities in the northeast and those in the south; Detroit, Boston, Chicago and Philly have always been solid hockey markets.I know it's very Canadian to bash American hockey fans, but there are some places where it does very well and Detroit is one of them. This isn't Phoenix or Nashville we're talking about, where they can give tickets away and people won't show up.
