The Stanley Cup Final was the last kick in the crotch to Motor City. This once powerful city can now take on its true name "City of Losers".

It's still HockeyTown!

No shame in losing in game 7 of Finals and winning previous year...and a few years before that...and a few years before that...

Detroit is very depressed but will comes back in few years.
Many big manufacturing corporations are looking there to take over old auto factories.
Infrastructer is in place, and land and buildings are very cheap.

What a moron.
Not to mention that 80% of the people in Detroit don't even follow hockey.
I am sure not repeating as champs has just devastated the people.

"city of losers"--that's us when it comes to how we lost in '82, & '94, we don't have the killer instinct.

Though the bandwagoners here certainly do ;)

I don't think most people in Detroit even know they have a good hockey team. The city itself sucks, but the team doesn't.
Actually, the Red Wings have long been one of the best American teams for attendance. It sagged a bit this season, but that had more to do with the economy than anything. Detroit's one of the places that were hardest hit by the recession. I know it's very Canadian to bash American hockey fans, but there are some places where it does very well and Detroit is one of them. This isn't Phoenix or Nashville we're talking about, where they can give tickets away and people won't show up.

Good god...
That must be why we've won 4 out of the last 12 Cups, and why we've been in 6 of the last 14 Cup finals....

Idiot...

Exactly. There's a big difference between cities in the northeast and those in the south; Detroit, Boston, Chicago and Philly have always been solid hockey markets.
