Men wore muffs up to about the beginning of the 20th century...I could be a tad off on the time...but they did wear them for about 300 years at least. I wonder what changed the fashion.
Or wear them with PJs like Hugh Hefner.I would absolutely KILL for a pair (or two or three or more!) of English velvet slippers. I'd wear them with a tuxedo or with a classic navy blazer and cotton chinos.
All very nice and in some cases very gay. Some are nice though. Be careful who you are and where you are when you wear some of these fashions. Looks great on TV and might work in Yorkville. Not so much in Red Deer or Kamloops, ya know.
Anyhow I went into Harry's in the West Ed after work today, want a grey pinstripe suit to add to the collection. As I was looking over what they had hanging on the racks, before going over to the MTM desk to order up a suit, one of the salesmen was stalking me from a distance. He more or less shadowed me as I browsed from rack to rack and matched my speed as I walked across to the Boss side of the store and up the far wall. I was actually annoyed at the tactic. Fuck off and stop following me. When you walk into that place there is an un-spoken agreement among the salesmen about which one of them "owns" you for that visit, and even if you tell them you don't need any help, they keep shadowing you, waiting to pounce. Fucking annoying. When I want help, I will approach someone and ask for help. Anyhow he pissed me off to the extent that I left without ordering a suit. I will pick one up next time I'm in Toronto or Ottawa.
Are those guys on commission? Do they not know how men like to shop? One would think a higher-end store like HR would know to leave guys alone until they ask for help.

There is a forum for men's fashion; I found it when looking for ways to help my son understand the importance of dressing well. I cannot remember the name of the forum, but, it was a total rush reading the comments.

Yes, just like PERBerts, style enthusiasts on SF also have heated debates and flame wars and fling shit at each other and the immaculately haberdashered moderators also issue bans. What's even more interesting is that those guys on SF are more interested in suits and shoes than in women! I fit in very well on SF!
I myself am in the market for a new suit and saw a program not to long ago on modern tailors in chinatown. You get the suit totally tailored to your body which would probably make you look the best.
I think knight rider is referring to these guys. They're a couple of old guys in chinatown; I had a suit done from them a little while ago.

I am definitely obsessed with mother-of-pearl. I love genuine mother-of-pearl buttons on shirts (dress shirts, polos, etc.). Genuine M.O.P. lends the buttons better durability, lustre, and just a touch of Old World elegance and class.
Would they add any elegance and class if somebody sewed them on you ?

Lastly, higher price does not always mean better. For example Armani (except his highest end line), Boss, Z-Zegna, D&G, Versace all make over priced suits relative to their quality. Stick with Canali, Corneliani, Belvest, Zegna (mainline, not Z) as a start (loads of others once you start looking). If you more coin to spend try Brioni, Kiton, Cuccinelli.
And more importantly than your suit imo, is the shoes. Learn the terms corrected grain (avoid like the plague), calf (good) and go with leather soles not rubber. Never, again Never buy anything by Kenneth Cole, Aldo, Cole Haan, Calvin Klein be it shoes, clothes hell anything.

Your busted Sperminator, you are a school teacher - embarrassed, I am the one usually correcting spelling and grammar. No, not possible teachers dress horribly and cannot afford MTM. Granted "NewYorkRanger" on SF proves otherwise.

Went to Town Shoes earlier. I want to get these shoes:

But I checked out this brand's website (Eng Lau) and on their website they have no shoes. I am not sure where Town Shoes is getting these shoes from. I did a Google search and nobody seems to carry shoes of this brand.
If you think this brand isn't particularly good, could you recommend similar looking shoes? Steve Madden -- is that a good brand? Spermie, I am looking at you.

How about Mark Nason boots? Are they any good? I saw some online that look similar (but they have weired pattern designs on it).
