Was just wondering if anyone likes or is intrigued my a Good magician and or Illusionist..I love to watch a Great Show.. have been recently astonished by David Blaine a known Street Magician.. He has this show that has been repeated many times of him doing various tricks and his famed Levitation (mind boggling) right out in the street spontaneously He actually stands on the sidewalk and comes off of the ground and hovers for a few seconds and then comes down again..Maybe it doesn't take much to entertain me or something...lol

There was one show that demonstrated the secret to this levitation.

As Mr. Baine himself will readily tell you... he is a 'performer' - not a magician.

And the levitation was, in fact, a clever performance.

well thanks for your correction on my use of the word "magician" SG...I just found his performance fun to watch...All of these types or performers are Clever and yes I know that it all can be explained...regardless I still enjoy this kind of entertainment

yes he mostly does card tricks etc aside from what he is now doning abroad suspended from a crane etc...still kewl to see.. oh well..guess I gotta get out more.. oh and all of this stuff has been around for a while...his approach is confident and as you say he has good delivery...never got to see his Levitation being explained..

I too enjoy watching David Blaine. There is a solution for every trick he pulls off. Its not like he has God given powers. For me i like not knowing how he does those tricks. I would rather just sit back and be amazed that someone can devote there life to entertaining me.....us. --- Kev

As Kev says , he's enjoyable to watch..even the simple stuff..for example..one of my fav's of his Card tricks is where one of the people around him selects a card..after looking at it put's it back in the deck..they are standing outside a restaurant with a large glass window with people dining inside..David takes the deck and throws it up against the window..(surprising the patrons inside..lol) ..all of the cards except for one falls to the ground..the one remaining facing outward is the selected card..the person who chose it walks up to peel it off of the window only to find that it is on the other side of the glass above a table with two onlooking diners...is it expainable..obviously..do I know how to do it..nope..do I want to know..well I wouldn't cover my ears I suppose if someone told me but I would rather just enjoy the show...

Hey... don't get me wrong.

The guy is an amazing performer and pulls it off with a deadpan demeanor and style that is mesmerizing.

I guess when you see how he does the levitation thing... it sort of snaps you back from being 'mind boggled' and leaves you feeling a little silly that you were fooled by it in the first place.

And face it... you can only feel silly and fooled if you were 'mind-boggled' by it to begin with.

And the first couple of times I saw it... I was.

He is talented.

Yes ..SG..you're right...that's why most of the time I prefer not to know..although that curiousity of mine will probably get the best of me and I will find out one of these days..I mean I've seen other levitations before..on stage..and then have seen how some of them are done..guess what "boggled" my mind, so to speak, was that he did it spontaneously on the street...he is definitely good at his craft..and executes things quite well

I can tell you this.... he uses no wires... no mirrors... no artificial aid of any kind!

He can replicate the feat anywhere, anytime and anyplace

I think there are a few sp's who help me create magical illusions as well....chuckie the stud muffin illusion , you know that sort of thing btw Thank-you to the magical Ladies who have done that for me...

And the fascinating thing is...

You simply can't have it explained to you (you can but it is hard to picture)

You really have to see the secret demonstrated.

I will tell you this... it is very cool.

In a way it reminds me of Michael Jackson and the moonwalk.

The first time you saw it, you said to your self - WTF?

When it was broken down and demonstrated how to do it... you said... ahhh.... I see.
