Wow, lots of great responses. Some suggestions to include both, and I agree the choices are not mutually exclusive in the real world. However if push comes to shove and you had to pick one over the other, which one you would choose is a more interesting questions IMO. It forces the decision and reveals the ultimate preference. Perhaps it's possible to be exactly 50/50 in preferences, but if you *had* to choose, which would it be? Thus the binary choice in the poll.

To the person who asked if the question was based on with an SP or your significant other, I think I would use a scenario to avoid other kinds of bias that might come into play. For instance with an SP, one might choose BJ because they generally avoid DATY with an SP. On the other hand, one of the responders referred to some disappointment with a past relationship in that she ultimately avoided giving BJ. Thus his preference was for BJ. To get to a response that truly reflects your preference, it's best to imagine a scenario without any of the aformentioned predispositions confusing the choice.

You might like A over B, but all A and no B isn't going to hold up for most in the long run. Pretty sure the audience here appreciates variety.

I don't think I'm missing the point. I'm just saying that for some people the #1 choice may not be absolute but change with mood and other factors. Not everyone has an unwavering favourite food, favourite movie, etc. I can't decide what my favourite movie is. I have 4 candidates. Three favourite bands, etc. The order I put them in changes fairly regularly.
