Curious about personality types...

I was doing a little bit more reading on the Myers-Briggs/Jung personality types and started wondering if maybe some personality types ended up being involved in the sex for pay experience more than others tend to.

If you aren't familiar with the Myers-Briggs personality types you can take the test here there's also a lot of information available online about what your results mean (or are believed to mean) about you.

I am an introverted, intuitive, thinking, judging personality type (and INTJ) according to the test, described as:

The Scientist

Independent, original, analytical, and determined. Have an exceptional ability to turn theories into solid plans of action. Highly value knowledge, competence, and structure. Driven to derive meaning from their visions. Long-range thinkers. Have very high standards for their performance, and the performance of others. Natural leaders, but will follow if they trust existing leaders. and I relate surprisingly well to a lot of what is said to be common of INTJ people.


Thought it would be sort of cool to see what everyone else was and maybe discover some dominant or absent personality types among the clients and escorts on the board.

it's more of a "what if?", and while sex is universal, and although there has been debate about just how often it happens, paying for sex or trading for sex is a phenomenon that isn't.
At this point the entire board could break down to people that had tested as intj and enfj, who knows? If there was a significant pattern, despite having no way to verify whatever turned up, I think it would be interesting to know or look into further.

Jung was one of our greatest intellectual geniuses. Through a lifetime of clinical and scholarly work he was able to postulate theories about psychology that anticipated by a century today's neuroscience. MBTI is an effective heuristic for accessing his type theory. To understand correlations about type and erotic services, we would need some empirical work. My guess is that all types find roles in this career. Jung was an INTJ.

I'm not sure if this is a full Myers-Briggs test though, last time I did one on paper there were many more questions. From what I recall, INTJ is the rarest type (maybe 5% of the population?) so for so many of the people on this thread to already be this type might lend some support for your theory Alix.

It is not that accurate a test .. because it is not the full test You have to pay for a full evaluation

Change a few answers and i went from a INFJ to a INFP Which still left me as 67% Introvert and 50% Intuitive

But never the less i have been doing the wrong job for 40 years .. I should be a graphic artist , in media ,, a writer , or a psychologist along with being a educator , councilor

I would consider it a better indication of the inacuracy of the test if you had changed a "few answers" and your results had not changed at all... I mean, isn't it good that when you monkey with the test you produce results that have been equally monkeyed?
While it may not be appealing to consider other paths now, they usually explain what traits are typical of your type that apply well to whatever career is listed as a good fit for you. I don't think the point is to lay it out for you as a "you would do best as a school sports team or spirit rally mascot, but if there are no schools within a reasonable commute to mascot for, the next best option is a marine wildlife classification critic position" psychic profession telling psychology trick.

Well i answered the question to the best of my personality in the first round .. But there are a few that are do not give you leeway ,, so I have to be either or ..
for example i generally am not good in crowd so i answered accordingly .. and I am not go at expressing my self in a group but If I know the subject i will speak up an as i have got older I am more comfortable with people ,, i can;t say i am great though ..

It is just that they don't ask enough questions in the short version None of my answer changes effected the carriers I may had been suited for .

Where it was right on is my empathy for others and willingness to help ,, and that i us my perception rather then judgement there are many other aspects of a person and the situation that will come in to play through life ..

I Personally am a follower of Jung's Psychology beliefs

Like maxx50, there were a lot of questions where I felt I was somewhere in between (at least according to my subjectively skewed perception of myself... I think we often see ourselves differently than others see us, or than reality would suggest). Maybe the "fence-sitter" questions say more about us in terms of what we decide on?... I found myself giving contradictory answers to similar questions based on the way it was worded (intuitive!). As far as thinking over feeling goes, I would theorize that though the middle ground is a more balanced reaction to the world around us, it can create an exhausting tug-of-war in a lot of people that does them no favours in the long run...
