Me and a couple of friends thought about heading to Cuba for R&R sometime soon. I just wanted to know if anybody knows what is the cost of a box of cuban cigars in the Cuba itself and how many i can bring back with me. I bought a single Monte Cristo for $23 about 2 years ago  . I think a box usually holds 25 and i am thinking about getting Cohibas, Monte Cristos or something in the high end, preferably in the corona size. I figure the cost will considerabley less because of minus the tobacco tax, shipping charges and duty fees imposed by the Canadian government. And yea, i know they have very affordable SP's :D :D .

I was there about a year ago and was allowed to bring back 50 sticks. I would suggest making it worth your while by buying the more pricey ones each they do count the lil mini ones as well. $23 for one stick seems aweful expensive to me. Thats more like what we pay here. Keep in mind you must have a reciept with you if you bring back a sealed box. Mix bags do not require a reciept. Hope you have a great time there! :D

I believe that a box is about $300 US give or take from the government shops. Going this route you know that they are legit. You can also find someone on every street corner in Havana selling boxes for $20-$30 US. Some are the real deal and some are fakes (good ones at that). If you know your stuff then you should be able to tell the difference. I also knew a person there that had a relative a factory and got the real deal for $30 for a box of Cohibas.

cuba

make sure you are flying directly back to canada, if you are connecting thru a US city, US customs will confiscate your box

US still have a trade embargo with anything from Cuba
