Hi Health Nurse,

I went into a clinic that specalizes in STI and HIV testing because I have a burning sensation when urinating and I am sexually active. Worried about STI so I wanted to get tested (waiting for the results), got some antibiotics. They did an exam on my penis and the doctor spotted some small warts. He asked if I wanted to have them removed by cryotherapy and I said yes. Now it's been 3 days since cryotherapy and there are blisters on my penis area. How long would it take for the blisters to come off? These are small ones, not the large ones you get on your foot or toes.

TIA,
fozzybear.

Hi fozzybear

Its great that you went to the clinic. Did the burning sensation go away with the antibiotics?

The blisters will scab over in a few days and then the scab will peel off in about 7-10 days. We usually recommend you come in every 7-10 days for treatment until the warts are gone.

Here is a link to an information sheet we have on genital wart treatment.
