Anyone ever had to scare away some crows? A friend can't use her patio because of pesky crows dive bombing her & her child .The crows likely have a nest in a tree nearby but what too do.Any suggestions?

loud noises?

There've been some news stories on the subject, and I think loud noises are used to scare off birds, like at the airports, etc.
She could try hanging some noisy windchimes on the patio area for now and see if it helps.
Cats usually have bells around their necks to startle the birds that they stalk. :)

I had a crow building a nest in my yard a couple of months ago, ripped it down before they could finish it. This is the second time I had to do this over the years.
My neighbour was not impressed but bird shit and dive bombing anything that comes close is what you will get. You will get this with sea gulls too.

My recommendation is if the eggs have not hatched rip the nest down and the crows will move on. Sounds cruel but you will get this every year otherwise. Plus the last thing you want is a kids or your pets eye poked out.

Try spraying them with water. Make the deck uninhabitable by putting up wire with "spikes" on it, so they can't land. You can also use black garbage bags, or anything that flutters, and tape it to the top of the balcony, so it scares them away.

Something to keep in mind is that crows are really smart birds and they have exceptional memories. If you fuck with them, they'll never forget that you did, and if they decide to come back or stick around, you're in for a summer of dodging shit that they can drop on you, or they'll do their patented dive bombing behaviour.

Crows aren't necessarily mean, but they can sure get that way. Consider your "solutions" carefully.

My neighborhood use to have hundreds of those dam crows shitting all & eating everything. Not sure if it was a resident or govt who played this freakish audio of crows screaming in pain. Whatever the person played it scared off the crows.

Get a plastic owl those usually help. If that fails mix a bowl of pasta with snail poison and some rat poison and put it where they normally "visit" I know that the next day afer I did that i managed to sleep in uninterrupted and I didnt see the flying rats for the entire summer.
