The religious right thinks they are saving people from prostitution and sexual slavery and the far left think they are going to stop child trafficking by doing this but all this is going to do is push everything more under ground and put sex workers in danger of another serial killer. Just legalize, tax it and put it in one part of the city only and the sex workers have to get a health check to work just like in Germany.

nope, they aren't based in North America, therefore immune to any crazy laws or harassment. Any web developers out there this is the time to be launching a new site, this happened back in 2011 and thats how erslist/leolist was born when CL got rid of their escorts section. I would do it but its probably too late I bet someone's already almost finished and ready to launch, plus I haven't done sites in years so will have to learn everything again.
The Americans have been able to shut down torrent and file sharing sites that aren't based in North America, so I don't think location guarantees anything.
Another thing that is happening is the banks, Visa and Mastercard have been pulling their payment services from these sites for the last few years. Now they're clamping down on bitcoin purchases with credit cards.
I wouldn't bet on LL being around much longer.
Torrent and file sharing sites get shut down because of pressure financed by the MPAA and RIAA. They are continuous. Craigslist shut down its personals and escort pages in the US due to pressure from congress, mostly white middle aged men who get caught with high end call girls, winning votes from the religious right by opposing other people engaging in prostitution. Or winning votes from the lunatic left who feel that any heterosex is obviously performed under duress and should be stopped. Congress really doesn't care, once the spotlight is off this issue they'll go back to ignoring this.
On a serious note, this CL this must really suck for some of the people who post that are true Indy’s and just want to offer a massage and maybe a few extras. It’s like hey just had their pink slip delivered to them. Maybe some are not comfortable going to Leolist because of the escort association. There were plenty of low key ladies offering simple therapeutic services who yuh would never see on perb or LL. They will likely go to Kijiji or somewhere elks until they pull that section off as well. Why is it that our Beurocraps have so much interest in what goes on behind closed doors ?

Yeah its like they don't care she has multiple accounts and ph numbers, I have reported her so many times for spamming and nothing gets done, it's quite sad really how much they care more about the buck than a notorious spammer/scammer like her
