I actually quite dislike duttslist but it seems to be the one that the ladies are favouring, which means that I guess I'll have to get used to it. I can't get past the age warning page on erslist, so that's an automatic fail for me. Personally, I still like backpage the most so far. I've compiled a list of quite a few sites, some new and some that have been around for a while but I know that a thread with a similar list was deleted from the site, so I'm guessing that some of those sites are not to be mentioned here (which is unfortunate but understandable).

Personally i use vancityads, duttslist, and erslist. Erslist seems to be getting a lot of ads since yesterdayish. They also post on the GS and perb as well. Duttslist is alright. Vancityads has a forum style search which does a much more thorough job which is nice.

I live in the valley and 'hobby' seldomly so I've been relying on CL for SP's in the valley (seeing as how both Melissa and Bria are retired). Now, there's not a lot of resources available. Any suggestions on websites that have listing would be appreciated.

I was a fan and posted regularly on Backpage , but they recently ripped me off.
I posted a live link to my pic's in the bottom of 3 of my ads (which cost 24 bucks)
and they deleted them stating that they "no longer allow these types of live links"
It didn't say anything about that in the rules. If they just applied this rule than
in my opinion everything before they did should have been allowed to stay,or edited.
I emailed them asking for my money back, they took all of my CC info and said they'd reimburse me. It's been 2 weeks and still nothing.
I've emailed them 3 times since asking about it and get no responce

Seems to me that with a global shutdowm of Craigslist there should be enough advocacy groups to start up a Craigslist clone run by and for sex workers. They just need some way of working together. Maybe through Global Network of Sex work Projects.

There have been some comments to the effect that free posting on Craigslist was undercutting the women who were spending on expensive advertising and web sites, so good riddence to it. That is a valid point but you need to decide where you are going to draw the line. Who do you want to exclude from the work and who do you want to support. I suggest minors, anyone who is being coerced and voluntary illegal immigrants should be excluded. I suggest responsible adults should be accepted and supported. By making the bar as low as possible, free ads easily submitted, you provide the greatest competition for any predators who waant to exploit children or adults. This is the best justification, poltically, for setting up a Craigslist clone. It will help some workers and some workers will object to the competition but overall it will be better for the industry and for society.

The sleezy politicians attacked Craigslist because it was a cheap way to buy votes on the backs of working women. They need to be punished for doing that.

I would like to hear from anyone who would be willing to spend a few hours either working towards a Craigslist clone or sending a message to a politician or two.

treveller, did you spend any time at all reading this thread? There are more than enough new sites that have taken over CL, not to mention the already established ones (like bp, perb, cityvibe, freepostsite, localescorts, am I forgetting anything??) and for the past month everyone has been using them already. You would have a hard time selling yet another advertising site, unless you could guarantee the same kind of traffic something that DL, vancityad and erslist have already gone about doing. Even CL had some accountability in the ad postings, since accounts with phone #s were required. People just found a way around the limits, like anything else.

With 12 pages I skipped over much but is everyone happy with the replacements? BackPage seems to be the choice in Victoria but the cost and policies may leave it a distant second to Craigslist. If the replacements succeed they may be attacked just as Craigslist was.

I am still asking, is there interest in a free Craigslist clone run by and for the adult entertainment industry?
