Craigslist stir up!

Craigslist is now charging $5 dollars to post in the service section and no pre-paid or gift cards are allowed. It will be interesting to see where everyone will post next since I doubt many want to pay for an advert that may or may not get flagged. Hey maybe more girls will join this place :).

Enjoy the sunshine. It has been awesome this week.

All the best

Have not province
Is this as of today? I don't see AMP's spamming their ads 10 times per hour anymore.

On the other hand, I feel bad for the single Moms who will have a hard time advertising on craigslist therapeutic services now, especially with the fear of being flagged.

Hi, yea it started yesterday. I guess it will sort out all the multi posters but still annoying that they don't accept pre-paid cards... maybe it is to age verify or something.
Well if they are going to be sensible about taking adverts down then that is pretty fair.

Glad they did something to keep all the usuals from spamming their add. Was getting rediculous.

Hopefully this helps with ads constantly being flagged as well.

Check your closet..:)
You shouldn't be allowed to FLAG anymore now that other people have to pay.

Long ago I wanted to hire a personal chef for an occasion and I posted on Craigslist and had to pay. The ad got flagged next morning, got removed for who knows what reason, it was a legitimate post. No refunds, no dispute or appeal option, nothing. Just not a reliable place to pay to post if others can just flag your ads and get them removed. $5 may not seem like much, but if your ads get flagged, it's not going to be worth it.

And maybe some day a group of SPs and other sex workers will get together and set up a coop web site run by and for sex workers. No car ads. No bullshit disclaimers. Low cost with advertiser rebates at the end of the year.

What would you like to see in the ideal service listing site?

I seem to recall that it has been tried before. Just a few years ago. I checked it more than a few times but it never really gained any traction with advertisers. Eventually, I stopped checking it. Not sure what happened to it.

I can recall a couple of advertising venues that I considered having the ideal set up. One lasted for a while but eventually died out after numerous name changes and then tinkering by the admin of that site. The other used the same template but again it was one of the many that popped up after CL originally phased out their erotic ads section and it didn't seem to ever really even get noticed. ERSList ended up being the clear winner of that whole situation and now most of us are pretty much creatures of habit and stick with LL. Not that I wouldn't give a new advertising venue a chance... I just think it'll be an uphill climb for any new ad site to compete and make a dent in the market at this point

I emailed CL and asked now that there is a charge to post......who can flag? Reply was that all flagging is reviewed now by CL. If post meets their advertising criteria, it's fine and can't be flagged and deleted by your competition!

And in the USA, Craigslist removed the PERSONALS sections due to some new rule passed by congress.

I was wondering why it was down to 3-4 posts a day in the Fraser valley section. Have they migrated to another site or just given up posting?

At $5 a pop,it starts to add up. It was pretty ridiculous with some of the multiple posts for the same place/girls.
I noticed the quality of the ads are improving as a result of this ruling.

Yeah there was one time I noticed one Asian massage place in Langley or Surrey had 6 ads in a row and more scattered below.
