Craigslist Effect?

I notice a decided shift in the local business with the increased use and acceptance of Craigslist as an advertising medium. Everyday seems to bring more and more ladies onto to the escort scene. There are more independents, it seems its easier for girls to enter the trade for a short periods, and more girls seem to be asking for higher rates. At the same time there seems to be less advertising in Monday. Even agencies are starting to advertise on CL.

Am I imaging things, or is there a seismic shift going on? How do local pooners, agencies and sp's feel about this change?

Sorry guys but I rarely take one for the team, I don't think I would ever call anyone from craigslist unless they had been well reviewed here. Even then I would be very careful. I think your chances of getting ripped off or just not getting what you're looking for are much higher on craigslist.

Yes i have been surprised at who all have been advertising on craigslist.. I look at Victoria and most of the girls on this board have advertised on there at some time.. .. So i doubt i you will get ripped off. if you go with the well known one .. No some go by another name on craigslist .. which i find actually is miss leading .. I don't know why they would do that when there is no negative reviews on them under their other stage name

The reason there has been less advertising in the Monday Magazine is because they increased their rates back in the summer.

Also, if you are an agency, I think they require you to place a certain number of additional ads for your girls. I think this was working out to about $500 a week (don't quote me on that), hence less ads from the agencies.

I've seen that they are going to have an online section for ads but they are wanting $356.00 plus taxes for 1 month .

In regards to craigslist, I have only just started posting there. Not everyone knows about perb so I thought I'd try to reach a broader market.

But one of the 1st guys I talked to turned out to be a well known scam artist, go figure, lol .

I have heard some not so good stories about Craigslist which tends to have a number of scammers both questionable pop-up escorts and clients that could be a danger and more Maybe I am wrong but I feel more comfortable with the escorts with good noted reviews such as on perb. or other review sights and with known escorts in the various papers.Just my opinion .

For that piece of crap? Jesus! The only reason to even look at it is for Red Meat. Other then that I really don't care about "busking awareness day" or what some hippie is doing with old toothpaste tubes.

I agree.I think Monday Mag. is pricing themselves out of the escort advertising business. Who knows,maybe they don't want it

As for CL, I find that as long as one is discerning, i.e., thinks with the upper half, then one can be pleasantly surprised. I have met some really nice women through both the service postings and casual encounters. One's writing is usually pretty revealing.

Agreed - with the BIG head taking charge for a few minutes one can find some true gems on CL but like any gem hunting there is alot of rubble to sort through first...

I agree with Jaime, CL needs sifting!

I lump CL in with my "if I find the time" list of advertising sites.

Its return is minimal with a high percentage of losers to weed out.

( but we are used to that )

Monday Mag didnt' raise my rates this summer,

I'm not sure what that is about...... but I do know that

it pays for its self 200 x's over, can already be found online,

and rates have just gone down.

Its tied for 1st with perb for my fav.

CL is very sketchy!!

As ever, I must agree with Jaime, she of the athletic physique and rhythmic orientation, (drummer joke).
I have had the misfortune to consult CL this month, and have yet to get an email returned, or 'phone call answered. There's a lot of wannabe's trying thr waters, both escorts and clients, and that just muddies things up. As any bodysurfer will tell you, when the wave fills with sand it's time to get off!

too many fly by nights, visiting girls,people playing pranks,fake pics,bad pics, and that's just the personal ads.

While watching T.V. around 6:00pm tonight on CTV News they had the Olsen report with Chris Olsen reporting about Craigslist and some of the scams with it, especially with this one girl who was trying to rent a place to live while going to school.Turned out there was really not a place to rent.It was just a scam to get her money which they some how did.
