Seeing some of the comments about the reality of Covid / Government plot or not etc....I have to wonder, no matter what your position on this is/was...
how many people did you meet that had Covid ?

In my case two, both strangers, both within the past month and a half. I've met one person that knows somebody that had Covid.

I am retired and not much of a social animal, though I do get out daily, to the store, walking the dog etc. No large group activities.

Too many to recount. ICU at the VGH infectious diseases department was full of folks seriously ill when I was working with the AB and detection team March through June 2020. Deaths daily. Half my company's staff in the Toronto office got it, 4 of them hospitalized. One guy who was really sick early on like March 15 2020 still has coughing fits.

Anyone who subscribes to any notion SARS2 is fake, a conspiracy, a gov't plot (feel free to pull your tin hat ideas out of your ass) has their rectal output firmly connected to their cranial input.

Two of my friends have died from it, do they count?

Sorry to hear that, of course they do. But, it does help to point out the disparity of the individual covid experience. For you they are a personal loss that will probably affect on how you look back on this experience. For me they they are two of hundreds of thousands which will also affect on how I look back on this. I'd suggest our views will be totally different.

Brings up another question I should have included in the OP.....how will your personal experience affect how you go forward ?

I'm not in health care or a profession that would put me in touch with a large number of the population. I would say 30-40 that have had Covid and 6 that have died.
I've always been somewhat of an introvert, but expect to close off large gatherings completely going forward. No more sporting events, concerts, shopping malls etc...

Over the weekend, 5 cases were reported in Vancouver Coastal Health and 33 in Fraser Health. The vaccines are working out great and we're getting better effectiveness #s than UK.

If you're fully vaccinated then chances of severe outcomes are very low. Herd immunity hasn't reached its peak yet but it's already working. If you want to be extra safe, then wear a good mask.

One co worker died last month.
One co worker’s sister died in May.

One co worker has been back for two weeks after being in hospital. He looks absolutely shit. He was a crazy hard worker, in fact he annoyed a lot of people because he was so hyper. Now he is always gasping and out of breath. In his late 30s, non smoker.
Another co worker has been in hospital for weeks.
One friend’s brother died in May.

I mention the guy who came back because so many covidiots say it is only 1% fatal. For every fatality there are a couple who have permanent organ damage. Surviving does not mean recovery.

The chance of anyone being put into the hospital from a covid vaccination is so low that to have 2 acquaintances so affected is the same chance as winning a 6/49. So you should start buying tickets.

I could probably just as easily look it up for myself, but remind us why you've been banned to Perbatory TWICE in the last 3 months?

This is all clots.
The odds of specifically leg clots or clots requiring hospitalization are obviously lower. 93296F18-59BD-49F2-81DA-2E63B76E9850.jpeg

Didn't you say in another thread that a buddy's wife had COVID before she died in a car accident?

Looking back at it, you said you have multiple friends who have tested positive and two friends who died while infected.
Now you say you have 0 instances of COVID in your social circle?

I think it just goes to show you that most people take COVID seriously and the people online that are trying to be internet contrarians are just full of shit.
