Covid concerns?

I've been thinking a lot about covid with the rising case load. For the most part I haven't been seeing sex workers during covid, but have a couple times out of weakness haha. Now with the current situation I'm definitely holding off, but keep feeling tempted. What're people's concern levels like these days? Has anybody heard about spread through sex work? If visiting sex workers was causing a lot of covid spread would we even know? I'd imagine many people wouldn't want to tell a contact tracer the full story.

Just curious what people are thinking about it these days

First of all, this belongs in the covid sub forum.
Secondly, going into any business is a risk. I have intense screening right now and am only seeing a very limited number of clients, all of whom have shared detailed information about their bubbles with me. I take temperatures at the door and require a shower immediately.
As has been discussed before, as with all health concerns, hooking up with providers is safer than hooking up with civs because it's part of our job to stay healthy.

I'm not convinced all providers are as diligent and health/safety conscious as you. I wish it were the case...

I haven't seen anyone since this all started.
It's a respiratory disease; easy to catch and easy to spread. Being diligent about hygiene can be helpful, but the only way to truly minimize your risk is by avoiding close contact. I'm surprised that in some other threads it's almost treated as an STI. No DATY, rimming or kissing, yet man-on-top missionary or cowgirl seems to be acceptable. Breathing from two different oxygen sources during sex would be a huge improvement, but not exactly feasible. Both wearing properly sealed N95 masks would help as well, but may not be 100% effective.
What makes this so insidious is you can have it and be spreading it and not even know it. You can be contagious even before you have symptoms. If you're one of the people who are asymptomatic even more so.
The chances of any cases being "traced" back to this activity is very slim. Being relatively anonymous is a big part of being involved on both sides of the equation. A guy would definitely not tell where he got it if he felt it was from booking an SP. We barely talk about doing this at the best of times, never mind during COVID. I don't think too many SPs, massage parlours or escort agencies are going to announce any kind of a possible contact. It would drastically effect business.
I think there is a fear that cases coming from the sex work industry would hinder any efforts to legitimize and eventually legalize it. Society's view SPs and clients is poor enough, never mind tossing in a global pandemic.

Might make you feel better, but basically ineffective.

Taking the temperture only works if the person has a fever. Infected, but asymptomatic, and not showing fever? Oops, too bad.

If someone is dumb enough to go see an SP while feverish, they sure as hell would lie about their bubble zone, symptoms or exposure. And did their bubble zone include anyone they were near while travelling to see you?

Taking a shower to prevent Covid? How does that work? Their covered body was swarming with Covid viruses?

No mention about heavy breathing - the actual way it's spread - or wearing of any masks.

Yes, plus who would be in the mood for sex while having a fever?

As has been discussed before, as with all health concerns, hooking up with providers is safer than hooking up with civs because it's part of our job to stay healthy.
1) I highly doubt any your clients will share all their 'detailed' bubble information with you Charlie. Even if they do you'll just have to take it with a grain of salt. Do you really think your clients will tell you their bubble includes his wife, kids, or girlfriend, or his coworkers and boss at ABC Company? Do you provide your detailed bubble information to every one of your clients? They will have the right to know too since you ask them for it.

2) Taking a shower is standard procedure whether or not there's Covid and taking a shower does nothing to minimize or eliminate Covid. It is an airborne virus.

3) Taking a clients' temperature in this context is just as useless as point #2. It's different from a grocery store taking a temperature check at the door. There can be legitimate reasons why someone having a fever needs to head out to the grocery store for example to get food or to get medication. There are no legitimate reasons why someone with a known fever will go visit an SP. They will be so unwell to just get out of bed let alone drive out to look for sex. If someone is asymptomatic the temperature check will come out negative as well.

4) Hooking up with providers are 'NOT' safer than hooking up with civs. Yes it's part of your job to stay healthy but not all providers are that responsible. Not all your clients are that responsible. You're also implying civs don't need to stay healthy because they don't have to. All things being equal, a provider and a civ will come into contact with say 100 strangers per day but the provider will be in extremely close physical contact with a few strangers without a mask during that day whereas the civ is unlikely to have that scenario happen to her.

This industry is full of lies and misinformation. That's why we choose to see an SP; to escape from the real world for 60 minutes. Yes you're correct that every business has it's risks and Covid is as real as it gets and none of what you are doing or thinking of doing will minimize the risks. It's just a fallacy but whatever makes you feel more comfortable.

Actually yeah my clients do tell me all that. I have incredible clients whom I trust. Covid can live on surfaces including clothes/belt buckles which is why hand washing/phone sterilisation/showering before I touch or embrace you is so important. Sometimes people don’t realize they have a fever. Also I cut down the number of clients I see during covid so I was maybe seeing 3-4 clients a week. Lots of civs were doing stupid shit like going to Halloween parties or restaurants; most providers I know aren’t being that stupid. Obviously there are exceptions but I would say on average providers are more careful with their health than civs.
So yeah chill. Who hurt you? ?

Obviously it’s a risk to see a provider right now. If you can’t help it you shouldn’t do it. However CERB and now CRB aren’t even enough to cover my rent so I don’t have a choice but to work. So if you’re gonna see a provider, see someone taking every precaution they can.

personally all this is moot for me now though because I’m on hiatus now ??‍♀
