I've been told by an sp I met a few times last year, that another sp (with whom I've never communicated) was supposedly asked by me, for her phone number. The first woman's phone number is not available through the usual advertising channels and I still have it in any event.

I want to be clear:

I've never asked one sp for another's contact info and I've never given permission for my "name" (doglips or halfbelgian) to be used as a reference or intro!

I don't know if this is an attempt to get around the problem newbies might be having with references, but it's upsetting and concerning to say the least!

If, and it's extremely unlikely, I was to vouch for someone I would be contacting the woman personally to ensure she knew it was coming from me.

My reputation and good "name" with the great women in this profession are very important to me, so if someone is impersonating me or using my name to get contact info or an "in" , that really pisses me off!

a client or a phone number make it safer for the sp .

It seem their are plenty of way around this and if some one wanted to cause them harm . they would choose a method like this .

the solution here is for the girls to drop the needed for references or to ask for something that
can not be so easily falsified

References are only one mode we use to screen clients...there are several other ways as well...

the problem here is that their is no guarantee that the personal information
will be destroyed . leave a client open to black mail . how safe is this for the client ?

if he goes to a massage studio their is none of this risk for him .

what do you offer over them , that would make it worth the risk ?

I do not ask theses question to be mean . just so I understand .

Suggestion

I believe that if personal info is kept out of these situations, it does keep the gentlemen at ease. I have spoken with a couple of other sp's and this is our solution: if a certain gentlemen calls to arrange a rendezvous with myself, and claims he has seen another sp,...I, in turn, ask him, for instance, "what kind of pets does she have?" Or, what area is she located in? (street in particular). This, then, does not interfere with personal information on their part, but does put the sp at ease. Then, I believe the call should be made from sp to sp, assuring us of the likelihood that he is not LE. It has worked so far,....I don't think that calling an sp and saying "Hi my name is "Joe" and I have seen Sharla is going to work. Any sp could call me to ask if I have seen "Joe",...do you know how many Joe's, Bob's, Larry's etc. have enjoyed my company over the years. Names don't work in some cases, but info regarding the particulars of the sp's location or family pets is a better solution and not so intimidating.

Being on one of these boards and having seen the girls that are on here seems to be all the references i have needed. .. Yes someone could use another's perb handle to see an Sp.. but there real name and a perb handle with some other tid bits .. not likely. And you can check tat with any of te girls that they have seen.

If a pooner calls a lady and identifies himself as an established PERB member (i.e. a reviewer), and she hasn't seen him before, the lady should ask him to send her a PM to confirm his identity. That would eliminate the need to ask for personal info or references.

So is all this requesting for identification driving pooners to massage parlors instead? no hassles there .... Seems to be a pain in the butt even bothering with ladies that are demanding references....

i guess you're right there are less difficult avenues, but it would be pretty hard for me to go back to the dreary little rooms of a MP. The precautions being taken by these ladies will make it safer and better for eveyone involved. I guess everyone has to make their own choices....
