Anyways, I recently made an appointment to see a lady. When I got to her place, I realized that I had seen her before under a different name. I remembered that the previous encounter was only soso. She was also charging a lot more. Decided to walk. I gave her $100. She wanted the whole fee ($350), bec she said she turned down another client to see me. I just left the money in the counter and left. She was cursing at me on my way out. What should I have done?

I would have been honest with her and told her what you just told in here.

Very reasonable cancellation fee. Some leave nothing. Those with the will to walk.

I was in the same situation. Gave the girl $60 out of $260. She did not demand any money and was apologetic. She said she improved and was willing to accept the payment at the end of the session if I enjoy it. That didn't sound fair to her so didn't change my mind.

Name changes shouldn't be a tool to make you pay for something you already decided not to buy again. She has her reasons to rebrand, fine, but she should accept the risk of this situation.

Even if client walks for a subjective reason (e.g. didn't like her face), a reasonable SP would hardly expect a full fee. After all, some indeed leave nothing or don't show up in the first place.

I agree. In those situations a reasonable cancellation fee is more than good. Demanding the entire booking amount for no service and walking is way too much!

Honesty is always a good idea. No need to be scathingly so but mentioning the reason for canceling seems more than adequate. Otherwise it's not fun for either party to push through when the clients not into it.

Not everyone likes everyone - it can be personality or looks or chemistry over all.
