Huge congrats to the local boys for capturing the Canadian Little League title, the 14th in 15 years for a BC team. Big bats from our BC boys - apparently they love going to the cages.
And strong performances from their best players when needed. I think everyone expected more from the controversial Mirabel Diamond Baseball Academy, especially considering that team
has been Quebec's 'representative' the last four years straight. All the other teams in the tournament filed protests concerning Mirabel flouting residence eligibility rules, but unfortunately I
doubt that Little League Canada will take any action. It's my understanding that LLC takes it's marching orders from Williamsport HQ, and you must keep in mind that they run a tournament
every year where, while being billed as a World Series, guarantees a team from their own country an automatic spot in the final!
Having said that, I hope and trust that the kids will have the time of their lives at the 'World' Series!
