Tres sexy!!! And suitable for a nice pat down. Damn, the cops in North Van used to be the hawtest. A road side check was a therapeutic experience.

Ugly to me, a woman is so beautiful natural. One reason I prefer Japanese porn lack of tats. Hopefully these things run in circles and the new trend is tattoo free.

The whole stigma of having tattoos is rapidly fading. 20 somethings can go to a 'studio' in a mall and get 'inked' so it isn't what it once was. That being said, some people still look at them as evidence of a checkered past and may think that the guy/gal standing in front of them with weapons and the authority to use them at their discretion is a bit frightening.
Personally I see them as being a bit unprofessional. A long sleeve shirt (yes even in summer) can alleviate that.

(didn't we have a thread a while back about someone not hiring tatted people?)
(too lazy to search)

Cops are people too? who cares...

I just did a set of photos for an SP I know (Its a hobby)
and we talked about photo shopping her tats out which I did so her privacy would be intact
she told me some guys wouldn't appreciate that... Strange world we live in...
Many guys expect everything without considering what her situation i.e. privacy are.

Love tattoos when done well on men.. Not a fan of cops.. A cop with tattoos regardless of how nice they are get no bonus points from me.. Still dislike them all equally:p
What a ridiculous statement. That's like saying you dislike all bus drivers, all pilots or all SP's. How well do you think the city would function without cops? Does the Stanley Cup riot ring a bell?

I'm the one who won't hire someone with visible tats. Clients dislike them and make it known, and I think it shows a lack of insight. As I've asked before - would anyone keep the same clothes, hair style or colour, car or just about anything else for the rest of their lives? Are you going to assume you are the same person at 20 that you are at 30, 40 or 50? Will you keep the same interests, friends, job, partner, etc? Why do something where the only way to change it is to add to it or painfully remove it?

Before this, i used to have a real job (gasp).

I worked at many 4 & 5 star hotels in Ontario and BC.

We were not to have any visible tattoos. They had to be covered at all times. Even if that meant wearing make-up to cover them

I find it unprofessional. If you wanna have forearm tattoos wear shits with but up sleeves that button.

CT: It's not so much a statement as a preference. I don't think she is advocating the removal of L.E., just stating that she isn't a fan. I'm guessing due to some negative experiences or maybe related to the 'industry'.

Personally I share her sentiment. I have a friend who is now out over $7000 in lawyers fees and has an arrest record due to harassment from a cop who used to be his neighbour. He was arrested and charged with obstructing an investigation because he wouldn't go to the detachment and be photographed and printed. He wasn't even being charged or arrested. Even the judge said he wasn't required to do it. Now this arrest record will follow him everywhere. The cop said he had threatened their life and hit them in the face. Unfortunately he was in Vancouver at the time this allegedly happened in Nanaimo he also had a torn rotator cuff. He could barely lift his arm. Some cops are total assholes and shouldn't have the authority and 'tools of the trade' to do this kind of harm. Eventually the cop was transferred. Probably to get involved in the same behavior elsewhere.

No they are NOT all like this, I've met some good ones and some assholes. Problem is the assholes are making the rest look bad. If they would actually work to weed these ones out rather than protect them, the RCMP would regain it's reputation.
Right now, there isn't enough Tarn-X in the world to help.

[end rant/hijack]

Agreed. Bad cops need to be fired as a matter of course - not just transferred. Even if it does take $50,000 to train up a new one.

Back to tats - I never used to like them. But this summer has revealed some very hot women with tattoos - that enhance their looks. So I'm all for them now. Maybe I'll get one myself.

As a heavily tattooed working professional (who does this on the side) I might be jaded in the fact but... ANYBODY (including a police officer) I am dealing with in a professional capacity should be judged based on their skill and bedside manner. Poor manners can be made up for with an increase in skill to a degree.

Basically, I don't care if you have horns in your head, 30+ facial piercings, or facial tattoos. If you can do the job required of you are are pleasant enough, that'll do for me.

Appearances do matter, but cleanliness is the only thing I care about in that sense.

Best thing about tats FOR police is easier identification of perps.

How stupid do you have to be if you're a gangster or common criminal and have visible identifiable tats? Especially on your face/neck.
