Pan fried chicken; Cooking time 30 minutes,

Steamed rice; 20 minutes,

Steamed green beans: 5 minutes,

Tossed green salad; prep-time 7 minutes,

Time taken to clean the kitchen because you forgot to put a lid on the frying chicken; 1 1/2 farking hours........... i had grease all over the stove, grease on the fridge, grease on the wall, i had grease everywhere, and because i also had grease on the floor i then accidently transfer it to the carpet. I had to go to the store to buy special carpet cleaner. D'OH.

Heres a tip steamed rice undercooked is bird seed. I'm usually better than this but i was watching baseball. --- Kev

Vent.

Kev you can buy one of those ventilation fans that mount over the oven. It sucks up small grease particles and collects them into a pair of grease collector pit boxes. For the larger grease particles, I line the sides of the oven with rags, and I line the floor with some cardboard from large boxes, such as a TV box.

The rags and the cardboard soak up the grease and can then be thrown away. Or if you feel like it, you can rewash the rags.

I do the same thing with the outdoor barbecue, line the bottom floor with a flap of cardboard.

Sometimes you see some men with a barbecue over the concrete and they forget to line the floor, and the concrete starts to develop these oily stains that darkens them and starts to seep into the concrete.

You can get a deal on those ventillation fans if you buy it down in Chinatown and haggle.

All i really needed to do was to put the farking lid on top of the frying pan. If i would have done that no more grease problem. --- Kev

If your like me and need something that cleaning up basicaly means throwing it away, just cover the frying pan with a piece of aluminium foil. Stops grease from splattering everywhere, espicialy bacon and hamburgers.

those blue shop towels that are sold like a roll of paper towels are awesome for soaking up oil and grease ...
