I noticed, on my C drive, some new folders had been created. They had crazy names like "kv7jas95" and "ynarq3ki". I opened them and they were photos and print and ads from the eros-vancouver website.

The photos were of various sp's on that site, and totalled maybe 40-50.

I have never copied anything from eros-vancouver.

How did those folders get created and saved???

Everybody says IE6 is garbage.......well it's just so powerfull that the bad guys and stupid sites like EWOS can take advantage of this and really "F" with your system.

If you want ultimate security wit windows get a router and use that as a firewall, don't use IE to browse the web. Get Firefox or Mozilla. Create a limited user account when your not really doing anything with XP just mindlessly browsing the web programs can not be installed behind your back.

Delete the folders, run some spyware removers, clear your cache, cookies, and temp folders.

Email EWOS and ask what gives with this shit your downloading to my comp.

This is what happens...

Whenever you browse the Internet, IE and other similar browsers, create cache files with cryptic names similar to the ones you described. You may not have been to those sites, but someone in your household has, whether in the distant past or more recently, and IE has left a trace.

Under "default" conditions, you can't stop IE from doing this, but you can suppress IE from doing so, by reducing the amount of disk space allotted for this function, in "Internet Options - Temporary Internet Files - Settings". Take the "Amount of Disk Space to Use" number down to the lowest number, usually 1. Then clean out the directories you mentioned. That should eliminate the problem. But it won't eliminate whoever did it. :)

And verb, I think you misunderstood the question... :D
