im having serious computer issues and it fecking stressing me out.

i am trying to check an email with an attatchment and its not working.its really important i check this attatchment.

a blue box keeps on popping up saying unable to load grafics conversion filter.
on the border of the box where the blue is it says microsoft 97 conversion.

whats happening any help would be appreciated please help

If it's a Word document try this.

Open document
On the File menu click Save As
Change name of file
In dialog box save as type Word 6.0/95(*doc)
Click Ok
Open saved file.

If that doesn't work do the above but save as type *.RTF

For one thing never open atachments. Word documents can contain macros which can contain virus's. Tell the bone head that sent it to you that Word 97 is to out of date and re-save the document as a .txt file then try again.

Sounds like you have office 97 installed but are missing some of the optional components. They can be installed from the same discs if you have them. Just do a "modify installation" and install the components you need. Hope this helps.
