Click "Safety" on menu, then click "Inprivate browsing."

Should work. I googled it, haven't tried it.

FireFox has a feature to always start in a private browsing session and if you uncheck the "Remembers" - your history won't be kept.

Between the legs of a HOT SP!!
What is you "Remember History" set to? If you change it to "0", it may resolve your issue. Setting to "0" ensures that you computer does not keep a "history" of what pages you visit.

I was having this problem and then was told about CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/).

Try that and you'll be ok...

For all of you Firefox, Chrome, Opera, IE fans, NONE of them will completely hide your browsing history, NONE of them. They are all designed to protect you from revealing yourself to Internet sites, not to hide your browsing history. The only way to hide your browsing history is to use a Proxie Server.

CCleaner can be used to delete all history and can be setup to run at logon, clearing all history.

click "Inprivate browsing."

it should work, its what i do
I have to admit that on the surface, the inprivate browsing does work, if you are just trying to hide your history in IE. I have to remind myself that these questions are being asked by regular users not users in a Domain or Business environment, but trust me when i tell you that in less than a minute I could pull up your history, even when you used Inprivate Browsing in ANY Browser.

The index.dat file will still keep your history, even after it is deleted, and readers for this file are availble everywhere. The only way to be really stealth is to use a proxy server.

It’s true some records are not written to the index.dat history file, namely the host records. This results in the user seeing an empty history overview in the browser. However, all other records related to a visit to a specific website are written to the index.dat file. Keep in mind that most websites are built-up of tens of separate webpage elements, filling up the Index.dat file quickly.

What’s worse, in contrary what Microsoft states, the temporary Internet files cache is used, files are written to disk but after closing the browser the cache is cleared/deleted. Not erased. Oopsss. Unless I use some sort of erase/wipe tool information on my browsing session is all there.
Of course it would still be fairly easy to recover the cached files using carving techniques, but one could argue that this is not something a regular user would or could do. I disagree. Just a simple Google query in search for data recovery tool yields almost 1.5 million results. We’re not talking quantum physics here.

Microsoft plays down the story, stating that the privacy of regular users is protected, at least against other regular users. Maybe so, but I would not rely on this feature too much.

Last but not least, when you install your operating system you agree to abide by the laws in the US as well as your country. Police and Security Agencies Forensics staff depend on the fact that your history is traceable. The only way to ensure your history is gone, is to use a Wipe Program.
