So, for the past week of so I have been trying to set something up with a girl.
I have sent at least three e-mails and left 4 phone messages. No response back to me at all yet.
This has been spread over a five day period.

Did I do something wrong? Am I too pushy? Not much more I can do.

Not to professional to me. Yes. I still want to try and set up something, but I have not even chatted with this girl yet.

Even if you are out of town, you should at least check your voice mail or e-mail
once and a while.

My goodness! You are quite possibly the most selfish pooner out there. Where do you get off thinking that your time is more important than the SPs? Time is precious to/for EVERYONE!!! All about you, isn't it?

I know when I'm touring the last thing I'll do is return communications from my base town until I am able to make the committment and have the availability for clients. If I'm on vacation, I don't even check my voicemail at all. I'm on vacation for christ sake, I don't want to deal with work. That may be something all SPs are doing or will now consider doing.

Vacation time for SPs: this is the time to put the engine into neutral and recharge your batteries. The work will still be there when you return, maybe not right away but it's there. Avoid taking care of work when you need time for yourself.

Ironhead, there are two people in this: you and the SP. If you haven't heard from the SP, there is a reason and it's not having to do with you. It's none of your business what happened if you haven't heard from the SP. Think about the other person for a change.

My God...

I can only speak for myself here but I delete a significant number of emails that I get.

I lay out in great detail how to contact me, what my procedures are, what my expectations are and what you can expect in terms of rates, etc. When I get emails asking questions I've clearly answered on my site or asking for dates that are clearly unavailable on my calendar, I delete them. If you can't be bothered to take the time to read the relevant info, I can't be bothered to take the time to respond.

Also I frequently use the filter feature on Gmail. If someone sends me a rude email or an email that makes my spidey senses tingle, I put a filter on so that any subsequent emails come up as "Do Not Respond."

People grossly underestimate the volume of email and phone correspondence involved in this business. There are limited hours in the day, and many of us have other jobs or obligations, so prefer to direct our efforts towards those who are polite and respectful.

Just my $0.02 and I doubt this post was directed at me.
