I know I am dating myself......but...
The 1954 Empire Games were held in Vancouver.
Empire Stadium was build to host the games and the Lions played there starting in 1958(????).
As a young boy I watched the cycling events at a park at Broadway and Clark drive. I think it was called China Creek Park
That is when they had sports for amateurs and sports for the pros. Now you can't tell the difference.
