Mcdonald's Coffee , is Good , I agree..

When get a coffee. If you like muffins. Ask for the muffin as well. It's a COMBO , only works out to be an additional 20 cents.

Timmies Coffee all the way!!:) When It comes to Starbucks I can only handle they're specialty drinks. I don't like they're normal coffee. They're are much higher end coffee bars here in Downtown Van which are excellent but when it comes to just normal everyday coffee its Timmies for me.
OUr good ole canadian Company.:p :D

I can't get coffee at McDonalds, I'd be too tempted to get a sausage mcmuffin, or hash browns, or both.....next thing you know, I've just downed 120% of my daily recommended intake of fat. :p

A few to try

If you want a real treat - go to Nyala Restaurant (Ethiopian Rest.) on Main St. and have the coffee roasted and ground at your table in front of you.

Also, try Nebur-King. Various locations downtown/kits.

And if you are looking for a decent Americano around Metrotown - try the food court in Crystal Mall - think the place is called Viginia's Cafe. Its across from the Japanese Waffle House. Good coffee - cheap too.

McDonald's brews best

VANCOUVER -- Leaping lattes! In a blind taste test conducted by Canadian Business magazine, McDonald's coffee outranked brews from Starbucks, Tim Hortons and a new premium coffee introduced by Coca-Cola.

It seems Ronald McDonald has snatched the crown from the head of the Starbucks logo-lady.

The taste test, published in the magazine's Sept. 25 issue, asked four Toronto-area coffee aficionados to sample four over-the-counter coffees without knowing what they were tasting.

Each judge used a cup rating for points, the lowest being no cups, the highest being two cups.

Added together, the final rankings put McDonald's first, with a rating of six-and-a-half cups, followed by Starbucks with five, Tim Hortons with four, and Coke with a single cup.

The new Coke coffee, called Far Coast, received no points from two judges, and half a point from the other two.

"Watery, plastic flavour," said Jason Thede, executive chef at the York Club and a custom coffee roaster.

"It tasted like tea. It almost tasted like candy," said Matthew Taylor, owner of the Mercury Organic Espresso Bar.

"Cloudy. Foreign-tasting. Not like coffee at all," stated Raymond Emes of Dark City Coffee.

Derek Zavislake, co-founder of import company Merchants of Green Coffee, agreed with his colleagues, giving Coke zero points.

Apparently when it comes to coffee, Coke is not the real thing.

Both Zavislake and Taylor gave McDonald's two cups, commenting on its medium acidity and "floral" taste.

Emes complained it was weak in body, while Thede said "It tasted nice."

Starbucks received one-and-a-half cups from three judges, but got a mere half-cup from Emes, the most outspoken of the judges, who said: "Felt like it was seriously under-brewed and very unremarkable. Stale."

Emes gave Tim Hortons nothing, but Taylor and Zavislake rated the chain's coffee one-and-a-half cups, even though Taylor commented, "I got that gut rot."

McDonald's introduced its premium blend CafeeRoast, an Arabica coffee supplied in Canada by Mother Parkers, in 2003.

Early this month, Coca-Cola introduced Far Coast, high-end coffees and teas, and Chaqwa, a brew made for convenience stores and fast-food outlets. On Sept. 22, it opened Far Coast Concept Store in Toronto, a shop where consumers can sample the new products. Far Coast stores are also planned for Oslo and Singapore.

When Consumer Reports magazine compared coffee from mega-chain Starbucks with java from three fast-food restaurants, the surprising winner was – McDonald’s.

The magazine had trained tasters sample a medium cup of black coffee from McDonald’s, Burger King, Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks, and found the best cup of joe under the golden arches.

McDonald’s coffee "beat the rest,” according to Consumer Reports. It was "decent and moderately strong. Although it lacked the subtle top notes needed to make it rise and shine, it had no flaws.”
