The 'Busted' thread has been pretty much hijacked by the holy rollers and this is going off on a different tangent. Hence the new thread ...

A possible (yet likely) scenario:

I am the first to admit to being a wee bit paranoid, and a hypochondriac to boot, about giving my SO a most unwelcome gift. i.e, the clap or chlamydia or worse.

I get tested regularly, about once a month, and have even had the nurse suggest counseling regarding my peccadillos (but that's another story). I was a bit shocked when after expressing my concern about the what-if's of passing a STD to the SO that if I don't tell her they will. Apparently it's the law in BC.

Thank god this hasn't happened, but I believe that it is always a good idea to have a contingency plan.

So ... if you knew that you have infected your SO what would you do?

Tell her and take the blows?

Not tell her?

Slip the antibiotics into her morning orange juice? (I hate to admit it, but I would seriously consider this option.)

This is not a survey, just a discourse on strategy. And please no more self-righteous moralizing and holy-rolling. Looking for some honest responses.

Great Question

I am sure many of us out there, perhaps women as well, have asked themselves this question many times. I know I have.

I for one would never hide this info from anyone. It would be criminal and selfish.

So you would rather drug your SO instead of coming clean? Why not just tell the truth (IF you manage to catch something)? How would you explain slipping in a crushed tablet or pill into her morning OJ anyways? Wouldn't that be worse in the long run?

You can catch STD's from other activities than sexual intercourse. AIR you can catch certain diseases from sitting on a toilet seat. I'm no expert on catching stuff like that but I'm sure there are other ways of catching a STD without actually having sex....

well a i get tested a few times a year just to stay on top of the game and ihave often wondered what id do if something crept onto little willys' dance floor.

a buddy of mine once got an STD from a one nighter and to make sure his SO didnt find out, her got a perscription from a team doctor, then went to his GP and got another perscription filled. his SO was complaining of a sore back so he told her to take this 'new pain' killer his team doc supplied him with. they both took the pils together and in a couple weeks he was free and clear and her back didnt bother her at all!! hahaha

but seriously, thats gotta be one of the toughest moral decisions a guy has to make....

here's to knocking on wood!

My reaction would depend on what it is that I hypothetically gave her. For example if it was herpes which is the gift that keeps giving then you have no choice but to come clean. If it was something like gonorrhea then I'd just slip her the one dosage treatment of cipro with her vitamins and hope she doesnt catch on.

Coincidentally the disease you're most likely to catch pooning WITH protection is herpes. The chances of all the other ones are negligible.

I'd ask her who she's been doin', and what she brought home. Like they say, the best defense is a good offence. There are some things that lay dormant for awhile, and if you happen to get one of them, put it on her.

well I guess I'll find out if I passed on any STD to the her soon... (even if there are no symptoms at all) although it will be different from what you are asking, since at the time I got busted, the first thing we did after coming clean, was to go to a clinic and get tested together.

My opinion would be to admit it, fuck it... your comfort is not worth somebody's sanity and health. Man up and confront the situation. You were not born with a partner and you will most likely leave this world on your own, so be a gentleman even if you've been lying and unfaithful, and draw the line somewhere, if you care about the gal.

just my 2 cents
