CL Why all the new ads?

For the last few days I have been checking out CL and find it interesting how there seems to be a large number of new ads popping up in the Winnipeg area.

Is it the beginning of the increased competition due to the economy? Is it ads by LE? Or is it just people playing around?

Just curious what everyone's thoughts are?

About 1/2 look like the same scam to get your CC#. CL seems to go in cycles, when there are tons of new ad's most are BS like the CC scam or web cam's and the like.

Have not been around to follow through to find out, but enjoy checking the multitude of ads! Curious enough to investigate further, and sure enough, the ones that look too good to be true seem to be scams.

Such as the nikkifux website where she/he/they ask "My verification process is a ONE time fee of $2.97 to run this check" ..... lol ...who is gonna give their credit card info to an ad like this? Look at the low rates for what is offered!!!

Then there are the group of ladies that want you to Instant Message them on Yahoo or Live Windows where they want you to go to a site that requires membership. As others state, majority of these ads are scams!!! Many are repeat ads by the same ladies - but we all checnk the ads hoping to come across a hidden gem, which some of us have found in the past....

I would assume it has to do with the CL ban on hooker ads in the US the scammers have had to move their ads up here.

I've replied to a few CL ads and discovered that it's a website such as fling or another dating site that says, "Please open an account using Whateverdatingsite.com and add me, oh ya, I'm sexy_little_angel212" or something like that. Then it says you'll have access to her photos or promise some other incentive like private one-on-one chat.

Replying to other CL ads using a different email resulted in the same site or similar sites trying to get subscribers. I am sure some CL ads could be legit.

I would say any ad that does not have a phone number is a scam.
