Did you catch this post on CL?

http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/van/ers/1634100049.html

After Ap. 1 where will we go o find all those fake pics? Is this true?

How could you possibly read that and think it is true? Do you think that CL would put an ad in the Erotic Section, "w4m 50", to announce the demise of the "erotic" section. LMAO
Tomorrow I will put an ad in the erotic section that says "Aliens abduct SW" so you have something to ask if true tomorrow.
Me thinks you are mistaken to believe the ad to be valid.

From the information I've googled, I believe the closing of the erotic section just applies to US cities.

Its because its illegal in the US but not Canada, thus craigslist has no reason to close the section. Common sense here people.

Wouldn't be a bad thing if they did do up here what they did in the states...maybe would get rid of 90% or more of the asians and other spamming posters in Van (no offense meant, but they DO PLUG up CL during the day) etc

these sections have been closed in most, if not all major cities in the US, and replaced with an "adult" section that is a lot less fun lol

no mention of anything remotely sexy, no websites, ads a paid for (and require your CC information i might add)

and reviewed by staff at CL

take a look at san francisco

Craigslist in the U.S. got into huge trouble with lawsuits and law enforcement back a year or two ago due to that murder that happened in the Boston area involving that fellow that had contacted the sp through Craigslist. It was a robbery gone bad. I can't remember his and her name, but he was the university student going through to be a doctor or something, was engaged, and he got caught on viideo on that hotel lobby camera. His face was plastered all over the media as the police hunted for him. When he was caught, his fiancee was on national t.v. denying he was the killer until he came out and admitted it. The police built their case based on the video, his cell phone call tracking, and then later DNA was found. After the case, law enforcement went on a national scale to have the erotic section removed from CL. So now if you're in the U.S. and seek some entertainment, go to the Backpage website. It has piles of good, raunchy, filth to get tangled up in.

Since the Erotic section was eliminated just about a year ago in the US, all the SF AMP's have started advertising in the Therapeutic. That is great, now you can get a truly great massage almost anywhere. NOT.

If they advertised in the Adult section, they would have to pay, Therapeutic is still free for now.

Not entirely true. Bawdy houses in Canada are illegal, and yet you'll see alot of micro-brothel ad's in the erotic section of CL today. If anyone recalls, there was a murder several years ago at a micro-brothel in Kits just near the burrard street bridge, and even with bad publicity like that, CL continues to keep the erotic section open in Canada.
