Just a question
Being new to the Calgaary scene, is there any particular etiquette I should follow other than plain old common sense? How will I know where to go or whom to ask for once I am in the pub? It's not like there will be a big sign on the wall saying PERB XMAS MEET AND GREET. I want to be discreet yet friendly. I'll be there between 8 and 8:30 with bells on so to speak. I'll be the one wearing the Leafs hat.

I'll be sure to pull ya over to our tables if I see ya with a leafs hat. It's Calgary,, there can't be too many leafs fans LOL
Or take my phone number and call me when ya get to the pub. I'll let you know where we are sitting.
Just say, "My name is Ron Ellis and I'm looking for Dave Keon." That should identify you as a 1967 Leafs fan. Seriously, I had your concern myself the first time I went to one of these things. It isn't hard to figure it out. Its not like the bar is the size of Cowboys.

Incase some of you weren’t aware pictures have been taken at previous parties and passed around after. Yes that isn’t cool but it happened and probably wont be the last time either. There really is no way of stopping camera phones so if you want to be anonymous go in costume.
As I said before this is just a meet n greet NOT an ORGY so there will nothing to take pictures of unless the person taking them see's any sexual behavior going on which will not be happening as the owner and co-owner would never jeopardize their new business, now it is simple for all the negative kill joys that don't or aren't coming STAY THE FUCK HOME in your little secure boxes of life and leave the fun to the one's who aren't insecure and WANT to come and have fun and meet some really nice people who are all like minded and at least have something in common.
And Wheelie yes absolutley you may come and bring your friend the more the merrier as it was for anyone here in the city from the boards as well as the girls and whoever else decides to show up. Hope to see you there.
What a response, who would have thought that, your words “some really nice people” would respond like this but I know you have a hard time curbing that nasty side. It has nothing to do about being insecure or a kill joy but has everything to do with anonymity. Some of us are married. And unlike you not everyone’s SO knows we hobby. One would have thought you might be more sensitive to this but I guess not. This is right up there with your cold calling clients back.
I will say it again, blunt this time: I don’t like the way pics and names have been passed around from past parties and folks have a right to know that this does happen.

It was a nice time. Thanks to those who turned out. Both the ladies and the gents. It was nice to see some regular faces, as well as a few new ones. All in all, I had a good time, and hope others had a nice time as well.
Unfortunately, my good mood and fun times were ruined when I stopped for coffee at Tim Hortons on the way home. I was talking to a Calgary Cop who was picking up coffee to take to 194th where a drunk cement truck driver doing 110km blew through a light, killing a family of 5, including a 10 month old baby.
Please, if your drinking this holiday season, don't drive.

For a member since Nov. 2007, you have some strong convictions and opinions.
I understand the marriage or relationship thing. But if this is your situation, there's no reason to try to get others not to attend. That was my point. If they wanna go, why try to scare them. Inform, and let decisions be made. Why is PERB so arguementative lately? There are some awesome members, but there is always a killjoy.
The hobby is supposed to be fun. Why bitch and moan about things? Have some fun, just be careful.
Before any negative comments, I'm not going to reply. I'm having fun. Just like many others. If ya wanna complain, go hard. Maybe the DVD Grumpy Old Men would be a better choice for you than pooning.
