Christine McVie passed away at age 79. She was one of the contributing song writers on Fleetwood Mac. Mick Fleetwood referred to her as “our Songbird “. She had a great talent live in concert.

Didn't realize she was 79. Saw FM a few times and she was always a highlight.

I was shocked to see 79 too. I had lower bowl seats last time I saw the Mac. Christine was the closest musician to our seats and she looked and sounded great. Such a sweet voice :)

First saw Fleetwood Mac in 1972 at the Field House in Edmonton. This was the post blues version, with Bob Welch, kinda psychedelia rock. They opened for Savoy Brown and literally blew the crowd away. Even in my then chemically enhanced state, I remember so much of that amazing concert. What made it even more memorable than just the concert, was pre show, I was over on the sidelines, trying to find a bath room and Christine McVie and her then husband John walked right by me, casually taking in the crowd, no security, just them. Can't recall what I said but they both were gracious. She was particularly stunning. I was most likely completely star struck.

Re age, well all of us boomers are moving on. Google your fav artist from your past and see how many are in their 70's and older. Mick Jagger 79, Sir Paul 80, Stevie Nicks 74. Mick Fleetwood 75. Time's Arrow folks - it gets us all.
