Exactly... the dumbass was adjusting the lighting - which is usually done BEFORE filming - during the most intense scene of the entire movie, so no, I don't blame Bale one bit for freaking out on him...

Okay, maybe he ruined the scene for Bale. But reacting this way to a distinguished DP, or anybody for that matter, is acceptable behavior ?

Does the end justify the means ? A rant like that can put the whole crew on edge and sour a production. Rumor has it that insurance had to be put up against the actor for this outburst. I don't really know for sure. But it would make sense given the over reaction.

Furthermore, how many directors and crew want to work future projects with Christian Bale after this outburst ? I doubt the film industry is less leary of the DP than they are Christian Bale. No doubt Christian is the big star and he can get away with tons of BS....but only for so long.

Obviously we are hearing distortions through the media. For all I know Christian and the DP had a big hug and they are now best buds.

I loose respect for people who conduct themselves in this manner.

I'm sure he could have achieved the same result without making a fool of himself in the process.

LOS ANGELES — Christian Bale says he acted like a “punk” and that his profane tongue-lashing on the set of “Terminator Salvation” was inexcusable.

In Friday remarks on a Los Angeles morning radio show, Bale said he never intended to get physical with cinematographer Shane Hurlbut. He also said he was likely channelling too much of his character, John Conner.

Bale also told the “Kevin and Bean” show on KROQ 106.7 that he and Hurlbut reconciled and worked together for another month following the tirade.

The outburst, which occurred last year on the set in New Mexico, was posted this week on the celebrity gossip site TMZ. It has become an Internet sensation, inspiring a music remix, spoofs, and punch lines for the “Kevin and Bean” show.
