I don't know why there isn't anything about this anywhere, this is total bullshit.
This video shows a Mainland Taiwan (China) speedskater reaching under a Canadian and pushing a lane marker under the lead Canadian's skate.
There is a one in a million chance it was accidental.
Strangely it was posted on another board but got taken down by a mod almost immediately.

This certainly.
And why is Russia still competing in any sanctioned world event after being banned for doping, more times than I can recall.
Never have I had so little interest in the Olympics, which is In My Opinion just a corrupt bullshit organization that has long ago expired and needs a rebuild from the ground up.

I concur and feel the same way sadly

That kind of smooth execution only comes with practice.
Since when have the Olympics ever helped bring us together?

Varies now
At the very least, these games should not have been held in China.

Russia is not an officially competing country, but as the Russian Olympic Committee. Big fucking deal, they should still be banned.

I love a thread that bashes china and Russia. But let's be accurate here. The arm was kicked forward by the other skater.
Does not explain grabbing the lane marker and throwing it forward.
And the arm was kicked forward because the Canadian was moving their legs, and the rival reached in front of them.

I think you need to look at it more closely. The arm was kicked forward by the skater behind, it just so happened to move the marker.

These kind of things happen on sports. Just like our Canadian snow board gold medalist seems to have grabbed his knees during the event.

Should we be called cheaters as well? Politics is ruling everything these days, but these types of things without context just fuels racism. Which I feel many people actually don't mind. But I do.

I read a post about certain Asian countries that have hosted the winter Olympics and it's mostly a joke as their winter sport development is non-existent in certain sports.

It's an embarrassment for them to auto qualify for all sports and being destroyed.

After the last few Olympics being held in counties that really should of spent the money places. I really hope we don't get the Olympic in 2030

Be careful using the word "Asian" or risk being called "racist." ;)

It has nothing to do with racism and everything to do with pressure to win at any cost. It is present in all sports. Money has ruined a lot of them.
I used to be in Taekwondo and it went to shit when the governing body sold their soul to get into the Olympics.

I certainly agree with this sentiment. My point was that I feel these snap shot events can certainly fuel racism. Not on this forum per se but reading other online comments, it has become very vitriolic. Makes me feel bad for our Asian Canadian population. Anyhow, overall I understand what you're trying to get across.

There has never been an Olympics where there was no controversy in short track speed skating. It's pretty ruthless out there.

So guess what?

Another drug scandal involving the Russian Women’s figure skating team.

The powers that be have not moved forward with the medal ceremony this week which would be Russia - USA and Canada in 4th. The IOC knows they have to disqualify the Russian skater but hasn’t yet. This is starting to stink of Politics.

check your eyes man... the arm is clearly up on the other skaters thigh, and she clearly grabs it and flicks it forward.

olympic officials apparently agreed, although did not blame anybody.

This whole “Russia is banned from competing” is such a fucking joke. So, no athletes are to represent Russia, but Russian athletes can represent the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), wearing Russian colours. Give me a fucking break. The IOC is so crooked and all they care about is lining $$ in their own pockets. It’s time this is blown up and good riddance!!

Btw, great seeing you post b3, hope you’re well pal(y)

I see on a news clip that the 15 yr old Russian girl who is their star figure skater has been cleared by the IOC committee under a 'special committee' session. Despite having tested positive for a banned heart medication.
What a fucking joke. A blatant fucking joke.

And just as a corollary to that particular corruption, has the IOC ever had to show their finances?

Twitter has been lit up by athletes who are fed up with this BS. By allowing this 15 year old compete even with a positive drug test just flies in the face of athletes who compete cleanly.

Seems every major competition including the Russians always is tainted by them trying to get an advantage against the rules. RemSalt Lake City in 2002 had a big judging scandal to ensure their dancing pair got the gold.
