Chinese medicine recommendations?

Does anyone know a good chinese medicine practitioner in the Vancouver area?

When I say good I mean someone that you know for a fact he was able to effectively cure someone's conditions/diseases.
If you know someone with a good reputation, please pm me.

I'm also curious to know what your experiences are on this topic.

Sorry, I must have been more specific.

Normally when you go to see a traditional chinese medicine practitioner they give you a diagnostic based on pulse and tongue reading. So the degree of success of the treatment is based primarily on a correct diagnostic and on the prescription of the right herbs.

I want to hear about people who have had success with chinese herbal medicine.

I've tried acupunture

1. Back ache- didnt work, bought a tempur pedic bed instead

2. really bad constipation-didtn work- time took it course and everything flushed out

Chinese herbal medicine is better than western medicine in two areas: treating allergies and suppressing inflamation. If you have chronic allergies like hay fever, a simple course of ginseng once a year will suffice. If you are relying on cortico-steroids to tame your eczema and various inflamatory disorders, try herbal meds; they have a lot less serious side effects. I know it first hand. I also have a degree in pharmacology from a U.S. University, in case you think I'm biased. Be sure to get a qualified
herbalist, though. In Vancouver, they are actually certified and differentiated by levels according to their qualifications. Get a referral from their College and make sure you see a qualified one and not some quack out to make a quick buck.

well....i know i haven't been to those chinese doctors since i was a kid, but i do think for common illnesses like a cold, fever, etc, the medicines do work faster.

if you're looking for places, i dunno any, but i do know that they're in chinatown, lol. but whether they speak english or not, i also dunno. best to just find a place that seems to be selling a lot of herbs or mysterious stuff inside large jars and perhaps an old guy sitting around, haha

Hey Babydick, I have used Dr. Lee a few times and he is great. He is located above the Korean Mall on North Rd, by Big Al's. Lots of credentials ie on the B.C. board of practitioners for accupuncturists also teaches. Apparently he was quite famous in Korea before coming to Canada. Helped me out big time with back problems.
If you want to be checked out for free, call any of the Herbal Medicine schools in the yellow pages. They always offer training sessions once a week at night. Always supervised so don't worry.
