Chinatown/Hastings SW's?

I was in the Gore/Hastings area on a recent Saturday afternoon, and noticed several working girls there. Most looked pretty harsh, but there was at least one who seemed somewhat clean and sober. She wore a white dress/skirt and was hanging around the crosswalk, asking guys whether they wanted to spend any time with her.

Anybody have any experience with picking up girls in that area? I'm a pretty cautious guy by nature, so I automatically figure that we'd end up having awkward sex in a dumpster full of used needles and then I contract hepatitus (or worse).

Car sex doesn't sound very appealing. I'd prefer some kind of furniture (bed/couch/chair/table) -- maybe even the floor. Plus it's nice to clean up afterwards.

Maybe if I had a big SUV...

Yes, years of experience. That area is my specialty.

You don't have to go to a dumpster for fun. The girl will be happy
to tell you about several local hotels that you can rent for the
hour/green. PM me if you want details from a local SW who you
can call & trust.

But if you want to stay alive & well don't take SW's up on any
offer to go back to their personal hotel room. There their pimp/
boyfriend may be waiting to tie you up & drain your bank card.
The PM lady would be an exception to this, BTW.

To remain "cautious by nature", though, you might want to read
up on every thread started by hitrack and Hatrick that has to do
with SW's, especially on the lowtrack. Or, better yet, stay away
from the area altogether, particularly at night.

Even if they look "clean" {& lots of them do, at least until they take
their clothes off} in that area it's almost 100% positive that SW's are
using one or more illicit hardcore drugs. Usually up &/or down. So do
not believe them if they tell you otherwise. It is skid/crack/death row.

Neither have i. Maybe something to do with the Asian philosophy
that emphasises "saving face", & the nearness of Chinatown.
Yet i hear there are many Asians in the MP's.

I read the book "Paper Fan", about former (and supposedly deceased) Vancouver Triad gangster Steven Wong. In one of the author's conversations with him, Wong raises and interesting point? Although Asian organized crime is responsible for a large part of the heroin in Vancouver, "How many Chinese junkies do you see?" The answer? None. Ever.

Terry Gould's idea seems to be that Chinese OC preys on "its own" community, but primarily just in terms of gambling and extortion. Selling smak to your own community is "beyond the Pale" (to use an Irish phrase) in Chinese culture.

This seems like a romantic notion to me, but if it were true it might go some way to explain why you don't see Asian SW's very much.

Anyone care to agree or disagree?

There are a lot of male Asian dealers & users on the low track.
But seeing that i cannot distinguish between some Asians,
such as Vietnameese & Chineese, i cannot say how many of
these might be the latter. People do talk about the Viets,
whom i assume are dealers, yet i don't recall any speaking of
the Chineese, although they may speak of Asians.

I am familiar with at least one small time dealer/user whose non
Asian SW GF told me he was Chineese, & he confirmed this
himself. Last i heard, though, after a brief stint in prison he was
clean.

Perhaps things have changed a bit since the book was written?

Yeh thanks Ghostie! I'm gonna have to pick up that book. My take on that insight is that those hard core drugs are mostly attractive to the already dispossessed, and given the very strong family bonds 99% of Asians have, these kinds of drugs are not going to have much, ahem, traction.

However, the war ravaged countries of Cambodia, Laos and especially Vietnam have produced many broken families and children accustomed to extreme brutality. I think the attraction to taking hard core drugs would have an inroad in those communities first, whereas the Chinese seem to be in it for mostly profit. These are of course large generalities, and I don't mean to pigeonhole or prejudice anyone. Just my observation, even if crude.

Sure there are always going to be individuals of all races and ethnicities who use every kind of drug... but when you think about it might make some sense. I think it must be a pretty solid 30% of Vancouver that is "Chinese" in some form or other (particularly on the East Side)... why are junkies generally white or Native... occasionally Black?

I might have seen 1 or 2 good looking EI SWs in Surrey the few times I've driven through. But in general good looking or not, EI SWs are rare probably cuz some distant relative or friend of a friend of a friend would pick her up, send her right back to her family, and then be summarily executed for bringing so much shame to her family.
