EDMONTON — Four people have been arrested in connection with an alleged bawdy house operation that police believe involved a north Glenora home and a north Edmonton hair salon.
The charges stem from a nine-month investigation that began last July when police received tips about the two locations.
A search was later conducted at the house at 110th Avenue and 133rd Street, turning up evidence that a bawdy house was allegedly being operated on the premises. Three people were found inside the home — two customers and a man who was allegedly the operation’s proprietor. All three were arrested.
Police also searched the hair salon at 108th Avenue and 98th Street, resulting in the arrest of a woman.
Chi Hon Chiu, 32, is charged with living off the avails of prostitution, keeping a bawdy house, possession of a narcotic and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
Song Suen, 42, is charged with being an inmate of a common bawdy house and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
Xiao-Yun Wu, 41, was charged with being an inmate of a common bawdy house and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
Vennisa Sai Wong, 47, is charged with living off the avails of prostitution, keeping a bawdy house and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
A fifth suspect was handed to the Canada Border Services Agency for investigation.
