I saw the Stones in 1981 thinking it might be their last tour.

Beggars Banquet, Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main St. are four albums I've been spinning for longer than I care to admit. Charlie's drumming on "Moonlight Mile" for some reason always stood out.

Other than the obvious, I had no idea he was such a talent. Read his bio - he grew up on the jazz greats and was a jazz man his whole life which is a tough gig for any drummer. Sad news indeed.

The beautiful Fraser Valley !
It's a sad Day... the Stones have lost their Heartbeat, and the World has lost a true Gentleman ! 🥺
Rest in Peace Charlie, as your musical Legacy lives on . 🥰

Rolling "Snake Eyes" is an inevitably in Life, but, I would have to think You lived as full a Life as anyone could Imagine . 🙄

This is as close to a Jazz song IMHO, as the Stones ever released .

Read a great story about Charlie Watts. Circa '85, Stones on tour, Mick, pretty drunk, middle of the night, calls Charlie's hotel room and says "Where's My Drummer?". Charlie, gets up, freshens up, puts on a suit, polished shoes and a tie and heads to Mick's room. Mick opens the door, and Charlie punches him in the face. Says "I'm not your drummer, You're My Singer".

Charlie's blues drumming talent really shines through in all Stone's songs but especially in their version of "Route 66".

That was amazing, these are highly skilled musicians for sure and they all took part, pretty cool!
