Freedom is cheapest with a plan of 99 cad for 6 months, with 2 gb data every month. Its prepaid without commitment. Telecom cartel in Canada is making it costlier for everybody.

A couple of years ago when Shaw Mobility came out, they offered free talk and text to Shaw customers. I got one as a second phone. Never paid a penny nor did I use data. Now Rogers purchased Shaw, I was offered 1G of data, free talk and text and no roaming charges when in USA. Plan is way better than Shaw plus I get the Rogers coverage area. Plan is locked for 5 years. 🤣🙏🏻

That's comparing apples to oranges.

To begin with, the duration of the migrated Shaw to Rogers plan is not five years; it extends until April 3, 2028. Not a day more. Then the plan jumps to around $70 (don't forget to post your rant here when you get a nasty surprise on your bill). :ROFLMAO:

Moreover, to access the plan you mentioned, it was a prerequisite to be a Shaw Internet/TV subscriber with an eligible internet plan.

Furthermore, since data is a necessity for most individuals, it is now offered as a bonus with Shaw. It's not capped and if you accidentally have cellular data enabled (which you are, likely), then it's easy to hit that limit and incur an overage charge. FWIW, you can't block data with your plan. This is intentional by Robbers.

Lastly, opting for SpeakOut (7-11), Public Mobile, or Koodo prepaid plans would be more advantageous.

We don't need gloating and arrogance. Please and thank you.

If your mother is a senior, I believe telus(if not all) offer a special plan for them . At one point, they were even giving free refurbished phones to them as well.
