This guy is simply amazing he has won 9 straight football games and is going to be the CFL MVP, However Dave Dickenson is your QB for the future because Casey Printers for sure will be in the NFL, maybe competing for a starting QB job with either the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals or the Houston Texans who all have QB problems, Printers plays like Michael Vick and that's exciting football, and is a reason the BC Lions are doing very well in attendance now. I say let Casey play the rest of the season and playoffs as he is on a roll and let him lead the team to a Grey Cup Championship.

Half of an incredible season and all of a sudden Printers is an uber-qb. The NFL is a completely different game. If Printers was that good to nab a starting job with one of those teams, he would have been scouted and drafted BY one of those teams...or any teams for that matter. Question..how many quarterbacks have SUCCESSFULLY made the jump from starting in the CFL to starting in the NFL??? He may make the NFL, but no further than a second string (more likely the third...if not their practice roster as the fourth). His talent is best suited for the CFL; but he has to take a shot at the big time. I'm glad we have both for now.

Reading defenses is one of Casey's strong points even during the beginning of the season. They say he's the "real deal". He is still young yet and I doubt if he is ready to be a first string quarterback in the NFL yet, but he sure has the potential. He should stay with BC for another 2-3 years before he heads south... highly unlightly since money talks.
Against Edmonton, the BC offense had a though time reading their defense through the game. Edmonton did their homework. But you got to admit, he sure knows how to score when he has too!. He is definitely an exciting quarterback to watch and people are starting to attend the games again. We haven't had this much excitement sice Doug Flutie. Seattle beat Tampa Bay by a score of 10-6. Didn't watch it.. but I doubt if it was as entertaining as the BC - Edmonton Game.

With a little more seasoning, Printers will be a starting QB in the NFL. When the time is right he will go, just not next season. He is under the most capable toutalige of Wally Buono. After all, he did have a hand in sending Flutie, Garcia, Dickenson and Burris to take a shot in the NFL.

The CFL is an exciting game to watch because of its sudden big play potential. However, a majority of the big plays are as much or more a result of poor tackling. Some of the plays Printers made on Saturday were exciting as hell to watch, but he never would have avoided the tacklers that he did had they been NFL quality defensive linemen or linebackers. Remember how many guys have looked great playing AHL hockey but have never done anything in the NHL. Same thing could and probably does apply here. I hope he can prove me wrong, though. Good luck to him and the Lions.

Joe Theismann, Tobin Rote, Joe Pisarcik, Peter Liske, Sam Etcheverry, Dieter Brock, John Fourcade, and Erik Kramer to add a few more.

He'll get the same shit treatment Dickenson and Ricky Ray got. Someone will sign him tell him they want to give him a real shot and then draft some college hotshot and immediately put him ahead of Printers. The problem with being an NFL QB is there's no real way to tell if they're any good until they play in a game. Thats why coaches generally rely on pedigree above all else. The only reason Garcia got a shot is that the 49ers salary cap was so screwed up they had zero money to get anyone else.

Bill Walsh was a fan of Garcia's when the QB was still in college.

Some former CFL QB's make it in the NFL and some don't. John Fourcade, Erik Kramer and Sean Salisbury were some of the busts. Other like Joe Theismann, Warren Moon and Jeff Garcia are among the successes.
