I realize there are more important things to talk about .. , saw a few threads to night that i may comment on .
But I toke a little escape from reality ,went and saw Captain America
I thought it was a pretty good movie ,, Even though they did not stick to the old comic of the 40's there were many of the same charters in ., but missing the Captains side kick...
I was happy that there was more to the story then the commercials ... But some other parts were a little disturbing and sanitized .
They did not mention the word Nazi or Jew or German's, only Hitler, and that soon changed to Hydra being the enemy .. Talk about rewriting history and political correctness . Any on the younger generation won't even know what WW2 was even
about... But then super hero's are fantasy also .
What I was impressed with was the faith full design of some of the German of aircraft ,most of them were actual designs .. that the German,s thought of making or had mad . and all though they never had the A bomb or death rays .. they were really trying to make them .. in fact my dad talked about hearing that the Germans had a death ray .. Yes it was propaganda that they told .
As for the flying wing . it is a German idea .. which later the US did build with 8 engines and one that was jet powered .. and that was in the late 1940's... Of course later we get the newer version The B2 bomber.
. Now the energy weapons in the movie were powered by some ancient force .. But the idea of a death ray was One of Nikola Tesla 's theories and he actually worked on a project to make one in the 20' and 30's .. No doubt the Germans believed it was possible also they would try any idea that could win them the war ...
So much of what we have take for granted with our technology .. come from 70 and 80 years ago .. and older .. Not just from German , but Europeans and those of Jewish heritage .
There many films that give credit to that time by showing some odd craft that are composite of many ideas from that era . Spellberge does it a lot and it still amazes me that in that time with limited knowledge and technology they thought of and made some fantastic things . I won;t say they were safe or reliable but they still tried . and later they were making those ideas for the Americans
