He couldn't 'stand the heat' the last time he coached Montreal, what makes you think he will stand up to the pressure this time? And BTW, Montreal is far shorter on talent than the Canucks - so.
I am not saying I want AV to leave just mentioning he would get a job in a heartbeat if the management here did the unthinkable and blamed AV for the team not producing when they needed to. AV is not the problem. Its the lack of grit and that can only happen if Gillis signs a nasty MOFO who with the help of others changes the nice guy attitude prevailing on the Canucks.

Players that are expendable in my book on the Canucks are:

Raymond - nuff said
Booth - who the hell was he passing to? He flips it back to a space not a player like they are taught in Atom. WTF?
Ballard - too tentative and way overpaid.
Higgins - inconsistent hot / cold like many others but he sticks out in my mind.
Salo - has looked really slow the last 20 games and either he is playing hurt or is just doesn't have the legs anymore. Caught way out of position numerous times.

Kassian - needs to grow a bit more and dominate in the minors.

Then there is Luongo. It will take a huge undertaking to move him to another team that Luo approves of and that can bear the contract we gave him.

IMHO – D Sutter out coached and out motivated his players over AV.
LA goalie, Quick, out played Luongo in the beginning and Canucks got too deep in the hole to get out.
How many teams in NHL history overcame 3-0 game deficit? Current Pits couldn’t do it
Kessler and Raymond – not the same after they recovered from their injuries.
Edler – is not Earhoff. Made key moment mistakes
Bieksa – over rated
Borrows – almost invisible
I agree with>

This team is not same as last year without some hard nosed players like Torres. I think the Twins are great asset to the team but Canucks need a physical defense with hard point shots and scoring touch. Trading Hodgson was bad in hind sight. Playoff games and regular season games are not the same. There is more room and more margin of error in regular season but in playoff games, the players have less time to read and make plays. On top of that, this year’s Canucks did not play disciplined hockey. How does the team go on offense when they are killing penalties? I can’t speak for the Canucks but it seems the team had arrogance going into the playoff but winning the President’s cup only put them in pretentious mind set. How many points Canucks got playing Calgary and Edmonton? Eastern division teams are tougher teams and I don’t think Canucks would have gotten that Presidents Cup playing eastern division. I don’t believe the Canucks would have had chance playing Pitts or Philly.
How many teams win the Stanley Cup after winning the President’s Cup?
I am kind of glad that Canucks are out. Why prolong the inevitable outcome with false hope and beliefs? It’s time for the management to not rebuild the team and not patching up but seriously make some hard nosed adjustments for future. One thing for sure, Luongo’s time with the Canucks is like in a sunset and Cory Schneider’s future is looking brighter.
I told my buddies from the beginning of the playoff that it will be Nashville and Phoenix in the western final (both goalies are playing awesome) and Pits for Eastern but from what I have seen so far I bet on Philly to win the cup. Washington is wild card only because Holtby is also playing awesome. It is proven, great goaltending is key to success in any playoffs. Bryzgalov is good enough because he is making key saves in the right time and the team in front of him is playing well.

You should smile because your team wins not because other teams lose. Finding joy in other people's misery is just lame, time to reflect on your life or better yet, get one;).

It's the Schadenfreude in me... I knew my Wings weren't gonna do shit this year, so as long as Pitts/Van/SJ and Philly don't win the Cup (aka 4 of the 5 teams I despise the most), it makes it worthwhile for me... :)
I'd love to see someone win that hasn't before... St. Louis, Florida, Phoenix, or the Kings would be great...

Gillis is scheduled to have a Press Conference at 10 AM today sans A V. Wonder if A V will get his own Mike at another time or not . . . . .
