OK, are they going to make the playoffs or not?

And who will be the first player to be traded?

You can choose more than one.

If I were a GM of another team, that would be the player that I would want. His value, plus his salary would make the best bait, and get the nucks the best return. Sure, everyone wants to trade an overpaid, struggling player, but who wants them? The salary cap will prevent high priced players (like nazzy) from being moved during the season.

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed Vancouver Canucks restricted free agent forward Ryan Kesler to an offer sheet. Sources tell TSN the deal is worth $1.9 million for one season. The Canuck has matched it too !

MMMMMM what happen if he doesnt perform to expectation ?

I think he will the ideal candidate

As for the Canuck wining The Cup I dont think so

Elimination Round probably 2nd Round

It's my understanding that under the new CBA, once a team has matched a qualifying offer from another, that player can't be traded.

(I haven't investigated that myself, but heard it on talk radio the other day, so I could be wrong)

well, one way or another its going to be interesting to see this
team without Buttoozi on the ice ...

either the team plays better or they stink into obscurity again.

I think Luongo will inspire some confidence, Willie Mitchell is there
to help out and maybe, just maybe, without having to excuse Buttoozi's
behaviour, Nazzi can get back to playing hockey.

Will they go all the way? Sure, when I get free blowjobs for life
from Julia!

But can I dream? Hell yeah to both! :p

You stand corrected, can't trade him for a year.

As for who will be traded 1st, that's easy. It will be one of the UFAs who won't sign a contract extension.

Marvin must be a closet Habs fan.

A lot of attention has been made about the Canucks potential lack of offence this season with the loss of Bertuzzi, Jovo and Carter. But it's defence that wins games and with the addition of Luongo and Willie Mitchell and a new defensive system, they might do alright.

Look at Calgary and Minnesota. They only had one line but they were dangerous every game and those teams you wouldn't want to play in the playoffs.

When Team Canada had all those scorers such as Lecavalier, Richards, Sakic, Bertuzzi, Spezza, etc. that team didn't score one goal in the last 2 games.

I don't watch much of the NHL, but last season I happy to see that to make the playoffs a team needed over 90 points in the standings. I think the Oilers were the "worst" playoff team last year with 92 points and look how far they went. Hopefully in this "new" NHL the days of teams with losing records making the playoffs are long gone. IMHO if a team can get 90 or more points in the standings that's a pretty good team and come the playoffs they have a decent shot of going a long way or all the way as any other playoff team.

It's all about timing and how you end the season. Look at the Canucks in 82 and 94. They got hot at the right time and had a bit of luck. It's how teams peak at the right time that matter how well you can do in the playoffs.

Yeah and I used to believe in Santa............

Even if they make the playoffs the Canucks are the perverbial also rans, nobody in that franchise is commited to winning a cup only to provide a half decent product and make some money.

How are the Canucks like a 40 yr old man who lives with his parents?????
