President's Trophy winners , congrats!!!!
now we have a few remaining games ,
they are like pre season and don't really mean anything.
I think Gillis should protect and rest 6-8 of the top players , similar to what Washington did with Oveckin.
Would be a disaster to loss a player to Oilers in a meaningless game.
Bring a dozen guys up from the Moose for remainder of season.

I think there has to be limits anyways. You cant just rest half the team.
I imagine they will try to get Edler and Alberts into a couple games if possible.
Maybe give Biekska, Ballard, Salo and Erhoff each a game off.

Luongo will probably play 2.

But with forwards not much room to do anything. Dont see any top forwards not playing.

Even though these next 2 with the Oilers mean nothing, can you imagine of the Canucks smoke em 8-0 or something?

Probably be happier to see them play now, than during the actual playoffs....................
if i was manager , i would not give a shit about the guy paying 200$ for last few meaningless games, i would have my focus on the cup and that is all.
and if that meant and was smarter to rest key players for the next week , i would do it. I think it is just toooooo risky to play the key players in nothing to gain games.
at this point the can do a no-show and forfeit the games.

The problem is you want them to be sharp for the first game of the first series. Resting players in the past has hurt NFL and NHL teams.

I say play them but not that many minutes.

It'll never happen unless hell freezes over. Teams are only allowed 23 players on their active roster. So at most, a team can only sit out 3 healthy players. Also, teams are limited to 4 call-ups after the trade deadline which the Canucks have already used. Unless it's an emergency injury replacement, the Canucks can't recall any more players before the playoffs start.

give the 3rd and 4th line some well-deserved ice time,
and I would like to see what Higs can do in PP situation–
the guy can obviously finish.

You hit the nail right on the head. Give the third and fourth line a tonne of minutes, use this time to experiment with different line mates and stuff like that.

I have no problem with them resting luongo because schneider is really good. But I doubt they will rest Kesler or the Sedins, maybe let the 3rd and 4th lines play a few more minutes than usual but Kesler is having a record season and is gonna want to keep scoring, and the sedins need to keep they're points up to stay ahead of st.louis and stamkos, get those art ross and hart trophies.

They came first in the league, I don't think they need to do much experimenting at this point.
I'm not in any way suggesting that they fix something that isn't broken but you never know what happens during the playoffs, injuries ect..... It's good to know that certain people that didn't play on the same line during the regular season have some kind of chemistry should the need be to implement a change.

Finally, somebody who knows what he is talking about. You can rest players like Washington just did with Ovechkin but you can't dress 10 AHL call ups unless you really have that many injured players, it's about being fair to the teams who are still fighting for a playoff spot and maintaining a certain level of integrity in the game.

I didnt think they where going to rest the twins so that's why i thought resting kesler and luongo made the most sense. If they dont rest any players then they should cut down their mins for the rest of the games.
