It takes several years sometimes for young players to blossom. You would realize that if you ever go into hockey pools that sometimes it takes a few years for players to have breakout years, usually they show their full potential in their fourth or fifth years..eg Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton, Doug Gilmour...plus Carter has been an inconsistent performer over his career and been bounced around several teams, hes been up and down. The Canucks milked him for a good year but there are no guarantees from his past that the coming year will be a repeat performance...he could be another Ron Sedlbauer....I would rather take a chance on someone else than overpay him if I was Nonis.
I just hope your right about the Sedins, I for one, (and I'm sure there are
many others,

), who are sick to death of waiting for this duo
to start performing. Yah Carter was a flake before hitting this line but it
sure did the trick last season. For this coming season all we can do is wait
to see what they do if Carter remains here. If he does I hope they feed
off there success from last season and keep the ball rolling.
Now I wonder how Peca would perform playing with the Sedins.
Remember when he used to play with the nucks?!
I called him Pecker head then. Now he's quite the player and would love
to have him back here. I would like to see LG's idea come to fruition.
