The sedins are useless without carter. If carter goes elsewhere ...we should trade away the sedins.
The Sedins aren't useless without Carter. Under the new rules the Sedins shined and Carter had nothing to do with there over all success. As a team mate Carter was excellant but there are other talented players out there who can fill the spot. Its up to Nonis and his band of merry men to find them.

You are all wrong...

In the big picture, who cares about the Sedins or Carter...

All 3 are pretty boring players. Carter doesn't hit, and waits for the Sedins to feed him the puck. The Sedins are slow as hell, so no exciting rushes up ice is to be had with this lame line. All the Sedins do is cycle the puck, boring the shit out of their opponents then feed Carter.

Thank god I don't pay money to watch this team. Also, if this is the Canucks #1 line, they are about as queer as Calgary.

The twins weren't racking up the points when Carter was injured.....so it's fair to say that the Twins plays better with Carter in the line up.

By the looks of things, Nonis is hoping that Jason King will be good to go this season, and can save major dollars by having him in the line up compared to having Carter.

Nonis is looking at cheap stock in hopes that that is the missing link!
The burrows....the Kings....etc....we lose Carter.....they better have a big back up plan!!
I mean....don't forget....we still haven't filled BIG BERTS postion!!!
Who is still gonna play with Naslund and Morrison??
Canucks forward lines had huge problems scoring goals.....with the exception of the twin lines.......here's the news...we still have the same players!!! less big bert!!! Luongo isn't gonna do it himself...
NONIS better have a back plan....because if he loses Carter and doesn't find someone to play with Naslund and Morrison.....he'll be gone to next year.....Nonis ( MR. PIGLET) contract expires in 1 year. He better create an impact or once again it'll be over before it's begun!!

I'll probably get flamed for this, but if i was nonuts I would simply send clouts to the moose, free up his 2.5 million salary and tell Carter "that's what we got for you". My bet is he would take it.

Carter isn't stupid (even though he is playing the market) because he knows the Sedins are the first team-mates he has had that are colour-blind and they worked their asses off in the corners all season getting him the puck and made him look good!

Carter worked with the twins on their confidence and conditioning and basically helped them break out of their shells a bit ... did it make them superstars? hell no, but they are a solid second line now with the potential to be a good top line.

Nonuts should also try to get Michael Peca to replace Buttoozi ... works harder, has better instincts on the ice and knows how to throw a hit! Nonuts should take a large chunk of Linden's salary and tell him to TOFTT or retire to the front office, that should help to free up a little for Peca.

It takes several years sometimes for young players to blossom. You would realize that if you ever go into hockey pools that sometimes it takes a few years for players to have breakout years, usually they show their full potential in their fourth or fifth years..eg Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton, Doug Gilmour...plus Carter has been an inconsistent performer over his career and been bounced around several teams, hes been up and down. The Canucks milked him for a good year but there are no guarantees from his past that the coming year will be a repeat performance...he could be another Ron Sedlbauer....I would rather take a chance on someone else than overpay him if I was Nonis.
I just hope your right about the Sedins, I for one, (and I'm sure there are
many others, ), who are sick to death of waiting for this duo
to start performing. Yah Carter was a flake before hitting this line but it
sure did the trick last season. For this coming season all we can do is wait
to see what they do if Carter remains here. If he does I hope they feed
off there success from last season and keep the ball rolling.

Now I wonder how Peca would perform playing with the Sedins.
Remember when he used to play with the nucks?!
I called him Pecker head then. Now he's quite the player and would love
to have him back here. I would like to see LG's idea come to fruition.

Yeah? But who won the Calder Cup in Gretzkey's first year in the NHL?
I believe the Calder Cup is awarded to the winners of the AHL championship. 1979 winners were the Maine Mariners

The Calder Trophy on the other hand (Rookie of the Year) was won by Ray Bourque in Gretzkey's first year.

But,hey,Quarter-that would put two centers one that line. The twins tend to play in the corners and along the boards-Carter in slot. Peca is a grinder too(along the boards) so there will be no-one in position to score.

Plus, Im figuring this year for more d-men around the league to have figured out the Sedins slap-pass.

Nonis confirmed this afternoon that he still hasn't or doesn't really intend to make Carter an offer. He doesn't have the kind of money that Carter is asking.....

And Ruutu is gone to the Pitts to play with Crosby.

So all in all it looks like the Canucks will be an exciting team to watch in 2006/2007....NOT !!

I don't know what Nonis has up his sleeve at this point but I'm feeling pretty discouraged as a Canuck fan. At least Burke put together a team that was entertaining to watch. And Burke continues to show his talent in Anaheim ....every day. I'm not sure that the Pronger deal was that great for Anaheim, but it's interesting and it may play out as genious. That dickwad McCammon.....what an A hole.

And Roenick is off the list as a potential centre so that leaves Peca as the only decent centre to pair with Nazzie. And Shannahan is a lefty so I'm not sure if he'd be a fit with Vancouver.

You're suggesting that prior to playing with the Sedins, all of Carter's linemates were racists (i.e. NOT colour-blind)? What an absolutely absurd statement to make with not a whit of evidence to back it up. Who in their right minds is going to make himself look bad by not passing the puck to Carter because he's a bigot? "Well coach, I know I've only got 4 points in 60 games but geez ... you've got me playing with a black guy. What did you expect?". Give your head a shake before making patently ridiculous statements like that, LG.

Sure, they were entertaining

But, what did they accomplish? Not much

Vigneault will coach a solid two way system. A bit of both worlds.
If you call winning the division and going down to wire the previous season for the division title as ' not much ' then I guess you have a point.

I try to watch most of the games all season and I want to be entertained every game. Bragging rights are nice but they don't count much while sitting through two hours of a game.

We can kiss Carter goodbye, he wants at least $3M/yr for 3 yrs. And forget about Peca as well. He wants to play in the Eastern conference and will likely cost more than Carter. Say hello to Jason King.:)

Pecas regular season sucked. He did play well in the playoffs but was a major disappointment until then and he admitted it himself. Personally I dont see him as the answer to any of the Canucks problems.
So....

Which one of Carman's Foxes are you recommending for captaincy?

Quite possibly your dumbest post ever(it's hard to really measure......)

Carter played with Mike Grier and Georges Laroque in Edmonton!

(we called it "the bro' line")
