I still follow what Canuck's up to even though I'm thousands of miles away, and hope he makes a full recovery.

My grandma had a pet crow when she was a kid, and told me she couldn't wait to see what treasures he'd bring home every day that he'd ripped off from her neighbours.

I pity the person who hit them. As soon as the internet identifies them a sea of hell is coming. Maybe they deserve it. Fact is, based on what I see this crow has more personality (and brains) than a lot of people.

Yeah, on occasion they congregate around my mountain condo and get into some type of debate. I'll be on the phone in a meeting and people ask "what is that noise, where are you". The only bird with more personality is a parrot.

I had a guy with a Macaw move in to my basement suite in Kelowna. When he introduced me to the bird one day, it took a chunk out of my earlobe. The guy said it sensed I was the alpha female and she wanted to let me know who was boss.

We could save some. I think 3 billion would be a good target population or maybe just the people who like crows and dogs.

20 years ago, I owned an Indian ringneck parakeet. ( He was an amazing bird! He would combine words he knew into sentences to ask for what he wanted. I would think it would be evident to anyone who's ever read a post of mine that I would NEVER have taught him to say "Mango good cookie bird!" when he wanted a treat, but he did. He was quite insistent about getting attention too. I can recall one occasion where he felt he had not had enough time out of his cage. I put my hand in to lift him out & he nipped me. Not hard, but still a painful little bite. I swore, pulled my hand out & exclaimed "OWWW! Mango! BAD bird! Bad, bad bird!" He replied, in the cheekiest voice ever "Mango GOOD bird. Good GOOD bird!" I had to laugh. He also fell deeply & passionately in love with...his own face in my sister's watch. He would bob, & coo, & flash his eyes at the reflective surface every time he was on her wrist!

Sorry for the slight Erica. We should keep the people who like crows, doge and parrots. All the rest can be put on the "B ARK".

As for loud parrots, I remember a lorrie that could be heard ont on the street from inside a suite on the far side of the apartment building.
