Cancel a post?

More than once I've begun writing a comment and then thought the better of it LOL.
However, there doesn't seem to be a way to "cancel" a post? I can "post" and then quickly "delete", sure, but that seems like a band-aid. If I just backspace over the text I've written (before posting) and then refresh my screen, it miraculously & hauntingly re-appears...?

There is a delete draft function in the message menu bar, the one with the B I U etc. Looks like either an SD card or a 720/1.44 floppy disk. HA, remember that, gees. I too had the same frustration until one day, no idea why, I started clicking and voila! Draft Deleted.
