They should get more money, delivering in Edmonton in January sounds like no fun to me.

I avoid Canada post and usps (only because they transfer to Canada post). Ups or fedex is preferable, if you want to actually get your mail in the same season it got sent

Canada Post withdrew their lockout notice.
Canada Post should be running as normal for the foreseeable future at least.

hah...

the union probably thought better of being involved in a mail stoppage

trudeau the first threw jean claude parrot in jail for a few months for a mail stoppage in 1979

all my bills come out of my bank account automatically . In recent years I have not had one employer who wants to pay me by an actual physical cheque. As long as you have a bank account they like to auto deposit. Even the casual labor places that hire homeless people without bank accounts . They used to use cheque's That where cashible at places like the leland hotel with a free beer. Now give the guys a plastic card that they use in a bank machine to draw the money out .I think if we do have a mail strike It might not be as big a threat as the union thinks. It might even work against them when company/s find out they can get better service from private company's and do not need Canada post .

just to clarify, the union never issued a strike notice. it was the company who threatened a lock out.
maybe when the company saw volumes drop so drastically so fast they changed their mind about a work stoppage
