Can we enter the airport without a ticket?

I think I read cpl mos ago that only ticketed passengers were allowed entry into YVR Airport.

So, if I was to see somebody off I'd have to say bye when I drop them off o/s Departure area, rather than be able to have a meal
or a coffee inside prior to their departure.

Wondering if anyone has experience with this?

Pre-Covid times: you could go inside the airport without a ticket. You could go all the way up to security gates. I always dropped off my guests at the airport, helped them check in and have a coffee/meal before sending them off at the security gate.

I am not sure if there are new regulations due to Covid now.

I was at yvr yesterday I went all the way in helped them check in saw them off at the security gate. The food court was open just a little limited.
