@the Meat Market!!!lol
While I appreciate the fact that ladies have not been arrested for the past 5 years, this bill is about arresting the guys buying the services not the ladies and the question that is still unclear is how various jurisdictions in the province are going to go after or not go after the guys.
it is unclear how other jurisdictions will react in the province as i said in my post, this only applies to the CoV proper. there have been stings against sex buyers buying from street level workers during that time but that is also winding down.

there is an understanding here that criminalizing either side of the transaction is bad for the sex workers. so, protecting the "ladies"(there are male and trans workers also) also means not arresting sex buyers. please see pivot report " my job should not cost me my life" -

in simple terms, what is bad for clients - you - is bad for sex workers _ the ladies_ so, while some are saying "leave up to the sp's to deal with, we already are. we have had your backs for years...don't you guys know that?

would i go to court for a regular client? hell yes. would i stand up and say to the world, my clients are not rapists!! yes i would and have....many times...to the police, the city, students at ubc sfu, fraser valley u, u of vic....

i know you guys are scared...welcome to our world i guess....but please...remember we have always stood beside you and that will not change.

inside the city of vancouver, adult consensual sex work is not a priority, meaning they do not intend to interfere whether that be with seller or buyer, not the vpd or CoV.....unless you are an extortionist or seeking young people to have sex with, a business owner fining workers into debt servitude or threatening workers with "outing" for example to get what you want and what they do not want to do...ie- bbfs - you have nothing to worry about...inside the city....

i am sorry that we don't have the same agreements with RCMP, etc down the lower mainland...we tried....it just didn't happen and i am one person...i said this sometime ago that i could not afford to do what would be required, i couldn't and it did not get done.

also, uncalled for drama and undermining of work moving forward was a serious hindrance. in fighting has always been a serious problem for our movement and ego always plays its role. its sad but true. if people could have dropped the drama, we may have been able to do it...

this bill will have no real impact in vancouver, regardless of whether the focus is on arresting buyers or sellers...

MM, the CoV are trying not to insight the feminazis. thats why the focus is on safety and ending exploitation, which we all agree is important. no one want people to be human trafficked or exploited. thus the language used to craft the release. i contributed to that language and agree that saying "end exploitation" and sex worker safety" are the way to go...its about controlling the message.

if they say " buy all the sex you want in vancouver" it becomes a bomb....if they say"end exploitation"...its what people expect and produces a calm reaction....we DO want to end exploitation...we (CoV and VPD) just disagree with the federales about how to do it...and that's where discretion comes in...police and the city have discretion in how they enforce the law.

we are seeing increased trust, and increased reporting of violence and exploitation in vancouver, what we are doing is working...not always, ther is still problems within the system, i am the first to admit...but here more than any where else in the country we are seeing change for the better...

in the end, you guys have to decide for yourselves how you will react. will you cow down and hide? will you live as before? will you try to drive the prices down? will you stand up and be counted?

its up to you.

i can only tell you the truth of what i know and why things are the way they are here as opposed to elsewhere...

you must decide what you are comfortable with.

love susie

Bill C-36 - Are reviews self-incriminating?

I haven't caught up with all the discussions but I couldn't find anything specific so I'm sorry if this has already been covered.

Given that with Bill C-36 the burden has shifted to those buying sexual services, would posting reviews be considered self-incriminating? Or are there new guidelines for posting reviews too (most of which I assume would make reviews less than informative.)

That and given the fact that user IP addresses are logged and most of us are hard wired to one IP (there are ways around that obviously), are reviewers in any section just a couple of subpoenas away from fines or jail time?

Admittedly, the city of Vancouver has not in so many words said that they would not be pursuing enforcement of the new bill, but given this is cyber space, it can potentially fall in to the realm of the RCMP who might not be shy in making a press statement about shutting down a major hub in the "facilitation of prostitution and human exploitation".

Thoughts?

Access the web from a mobile. IP address always changes.
The IP issue is a technical one. There are ways around it, and there are ways to track even with mobile. The recent take down of certain Tor sites prove that if they want it badly enough, there will be a way.

The main question is still if reviewers are self-incriminating by posting reviews?

I would say post everything under the Tor browser. You'll need a new email account, and new forum identity, but you'll be safe from tracking.

As vanperb mentioned, TOR was compromised big time recently. Nothing is safe these days.

The way Telus just regularly hands over cell info to the RCMP with a smile, wink, nod and a How's she going eh?. Think it's time to get a wind account or another non telus phone.
No cell networks were ever safe, neither they will be anytime soon.

I'm glad criminals cannot get away from LE. But even law-abiding citizens cannot assume their communications are private.

But the MAC address and ESID and other numbers do not. Your phone can be traced to your carrier then to you.
However, it is ridiculous to think reviews are self incriminating. First they have to get the info from Fred and the logs, and being outside Canada, good luck.
Secondly, where do you think most LE are going to find the time and the money to do all these things, Concerned citizens? They will still have to take the time to follow through.
I think it does matter where you live, but in my opinion in Vancouver and Victoria this is much ado about nothing.

To answer the OP's question, yes I think that in the review if you write that you gave a girl money, and in return received a nice sloppy bbbj, you have incriminated yourself.

If you say you paid for a massage, and, you know - she was a girl, you were a guy, one thing led to another... You haven't directly incriminated yourself, but given that you went and posted it on an escort review board, the presumption would be that it was p4p.

So yes you've technically incriminated your handle. But I agree with others, the likelihood that they would go to the trouble... ...It's not low hanging fruit.

My reviews are fictional accounts of an over active imagination. I haven't left the house in....ten years...thank god for delivery!
Same here - I want to go on record as being an erotic writer for the general public so that they can live vicariously through a fantasy of pictures on advertisements.

That won't stop.them from getting
But just how are they going to pick which guys to follow. By a perb handle..any one could possiable lyrics post under a handle if they have the pass word..

I think all perb accounts have been hacked.
They need calibrating evidence to charge a person.. just a story on perb. A bout john seeing Jane. ..With every one using fake names is not that easy to prove.. and would it be worth it for the police to spend time and money on.. to catch us one by one..

There is no crime if you don't mension mone .. and most of us don't

Am I the only one to be paranoid?

I'm feeling very paranoid for whatever reason since past week. It has come to a point where I'm seriously considering giving up pooning. I no longer feel good writing reviews or taking interest in this hobby. Today was an all time high as I saw some cop car parked on a street near a AMP in Burnaby north area. I loitered around for a while and saw them typing something on their laptop so I chickened out and left.

Am I being really paranoid or do I have the right reasons given the situation?

That was in one individual case, and the Conservative government is responding - they are pursuing Bill C-13 which would provide telecommunications companies protection from legal liability when handing over private information regarding their subscribers to government authorities such as police or CRA.

Parliament approved it October 30th. It passed second reading in the senate November 5th and is now before the Senate Standing Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs.

Wouldn't think there would be any reason to give it up if you enjoy it so much! But maybe better to visit reputable SPs at private residences (house, condo, apt, etc) if paranoid about LE.

Yes - well known s.p.'s at private residences... then you don't have to worry about marked cars - only unmarked ones with tinted windows and an officer taking photos of you and your license plate, without even putting down his coffee and donut.
They have a variety of things they can threaten an s.p. with to convince them to make a statement, stating that you and the five other people they photographed that morning were buying sex.
But don't worry about it. You're just paranoid.

I agree man even I'm feeling bad about it as I enjoyed this hobby and always treated others with respect and courtesy and it harmed no one. But the recent then of events has left a very sour feeling and it is for no apparent reason causing my so much anxiety that its also affecting my performance. Few days back I had hard time maintaining an erection or ejaculating once I heard some people walking in a hallway near a sp apartment. It is seriously making me stressed out and anxious.

I don't understand why are you guys so paranoid, just make app with well established, discreet ladies in private condo.
