Edmonton Mod is resigning due to conflicts that are out of control. Why can't we be civil? I leave with the msg. If you get banned ask for a reason. Please think it over and stop blaming everybody else for the problems I was reasonable. People were NOT I will fight till death on this point and those posters that know who I AM or have talked to me can confirm this.

I think, and know you have lost a good mod IMO. I was fair. Edmonton Mod does not want to deal with this stuff anymore and pity anybody who has to. Thank you to the civil and good posters, it was fun knowing you.

Emod, i wrote a post for ya in the Van section, but i will reiterate that i believed you did a reasonable job.

it is the anonymity of the board that promotes many to be jackasses and you have to clean up after them.

hope you reconsider. we have not had alot of problems in Edmonton (unless i missed somethings). forget about the Van group, i try to go in that lounge once in a while and always get one of them taking pot shots at me. of course, i am never one to run from a confrontation even if it is limited to typed words, but i have always respected the board and the difficult work MODs do.

Sheriff, you ruled with an iron glove (and iron dick )and tight fist, but it was a fair regime. the Prairies just got alittle more dangerous without ya.

I willl be blunt on this one. I haven't had too many problems with anybody from edmonton. Winnipeg and vancouver have given me a HEADACHE and I rarely moderate there. Everybody is lobbying to have this person banned or this post removed there. Politics play a role in everything. Everybody hates each other in those forums and keeps arguing for some stupid reason. Please don't learn from them and associate all the moderators with bullshit that is happening. Sometimes a decision may be unfair, don't be a whiner. I am whining about moderating but you should see some of the shit I go through. Ridiculous. I don't need this crap, never really moderated vancouver, and have to deal with the complaints. Why? I don't see a reason either. I would stay on as moderator in edmonton, but there are some problems here too, moderate but i think I won't deal with them either. thank you. I have been considering this for a while, and the last few days pushed me over the edge. ~A~ it wasn't really that thing we had in the forum a few days ago... but moreso afterwards. EVERYBODY chimes in with their opinon and continue to bombard me with this and that. Both "factions", it is stupid.

Here is a rant...
For one, if a decision doesn't involve 1 party, mind your business. #2 Are we adults on this forum? Some of these people I really have doubts.#3 If you don't like a decision it isn not THE end of the world, grow up
#4 READ THE RULES and make a conscious attempt not to break them
#5 there is some problems with moderation that are out of my control, look at all the evidence before you trash everybody.... I think i was victimized by some questionable decisions... I didn't make them. and I don't support people CONTINUALLY whining about them. In life everything is harsh.... no need to be a baby, just walk away and do your own thing. Some ppl have rehashed the same thing over and over again. Lots of people. I won't do that anymore and I am leaving. Bye

Lobbying to have someone banned is just ridiculous! Mods should read the posts and simply make decisions. there are a lot of wieners on the board who don't like some people for whatever reasons and like to stir the shit!

Sorry you're gone Ed Mod. As someone who has been "sat down" by Mods I have no grudge with the decision, and total respect for the job you do. The problem is some of the asswipes who lurk on this board, and never contribute to it except to cause problems.

Nobody acknowledges a decision that is fair. (well a few exceptions... VERY FEW) They keep fighting for their own rights here and there. I did nothing, I swear. I did nothing. That is what I hear all the time. And ppl just go on a rampage about this for months. It is stupid. Grow up, it is harsh, but life.

Another rant
I don't have problem with an occasional complaint from one member about 1 post. But sometimes it is the same people complaining over and over again. Why are you so dissatisfied with life that everything bothers you? Go get help i suggest.

And if the mods do ban someone they should post why in another seciton called

"BANNED!!!" and give a basic reason and duration. And for gods sake, email the person being banned!

I can empathise with EM on this one. I moderate a busy forum in another dark backwater of the web and, frankly, what you suggest is just not feasable. People post all manner of dreck, and an arbitrary ban is quick and effective. There are exceptions to every rule, but to be debating every decision with every bonehead is counterproductive, and time consuming. When dealing with minor indescretions from regular posters, one always tries to be reasonable, but when some folks continue to push boundaries, losing them is simplest.
On my board, we have a set of guidelines, and only the moderators get to interpret them. If you don't like the rules, don't post...


Edmonton Mod, you will be missed here. I have always found you rational and even handed, but I feel your pain.

dunno not that easy, a few points from my perspective
-some idiots just come on here to stir up shit.
- a slap on the wrist sometimes doesn't help, a warning/embarassment what good does that do? it is like a slap on the wrist. Sometimes a ban is necessary to show ppl that the mods are SERIOUS, some people will ignore you
-Sometimes a ban doesn't help. People do reregister under other handles
-a ban enables different levels of punishment for the severity of a crime

I guess it is just a different school of thought on punishment. Some people are left wing or right wing. Same sorta deal here.

i never knew about all the whiners trying to get others banned (kind of boggles the mind that someone would take this place that seriously), all the complaints, trying to mediate all the bickering, all the complaining EVEN after a banning.

there are some quality people here and some severe head cases. i guess when you constantly have to deal with the latter, then the job becomes impossible.

these are SOME real examples of what i received, asking me to ban somebody

The complaints include : (very humourous.... all 100% somethign I have received requesting a ban)


1)prank phone calls,
2)"hired goons"-> this one was my favourite
3)supposed "lawsuits" against perberts
4)police charges laid against certain perberts
5)all the conspiracy theories->this guy/gal is out to get me and posted this about me.. delete it, this guy is associated with this agency... blah blah blah
6) People releasing info about pooning incidents to an sps boss (at their day job) or a pooners boss
7) by sps and clients

etc etc... this is only a small sample. Daily humour in the pm box.
Call me insensitive but i dunno if half of these are true!

Come on get a life,i won't listen to EVERYTHING. The stuff off of perb is none of my business
