I wonder what the advertised 'ages' were of the ladies

The paper reports a 34,33 & 17 year old were found inside......so the 30 somethings were probably advertised as 22 year olds....I wonder what the 17 yr old was advertised at ???? Seven yrs old?

What I say, is the neighbours report the activity, too many people in and out, all hours of the day and night, of course it is going to lead to this. Seems like an easy bust for LE, imo. Call ad, get address, knock on door, detain everyone who works in it.

I have a feeling a lot of guys know exactly which one this is -- btw, illegally purchasing the services of an sp under 18, howz that feeling right now. I won't hold my breath waiting for them to turn themselves in, tho, or admit it.

Maybe there are code words in ads so people know if there is an underager there, like "baby" for the micros and "barely legal" for the white girls.

I wonder how did the police get the search warrant? I mean, even the neigbours have reported there are people going in and out of a unit, how can they have evidence to prove that it's a bawdy house? A privately run massage parlours will have customers in and out just like a bawdy house. Do any one suspect that the police has taken actions beyond their legal rights?

By the way, when the actual ages of these ladies have revealed, I felt a little disappointed. It's not worth it to buy sex from the underage girl, since it will cause legal issues. It's also not worth it to buy sex from the 30 something ladies, afterall, they're too old for me. Just wondering, is there any girls in my desired age range (20 - 25)?

I'm watching Global news and they just aired a story on this, with footage of VPD having a press release acknowledging the arrest...the cop mentioned advertising was done on CL and mentioned perb specifically. :(

Another post mentioned this was Tom's place.

On the 11 o'clock news tonight, they said the bust was at 909 Burrard St. and mentioned that the accused advertised on Craigslist and Perb

while i agree that youth need protection,i am afraid for the 2older women now in the custody of border services. they are probably in prison and awaiting deportation back to china where they could face execution. it seems to me that there should be some consideration by the authorities of that risk. i really wish they would stop involving border services in these enforcement actions. they must have believed human trafficking was occuring, which in the case of the 17 year old could have been the case but none of the charges are related to trafficking or youth exploitation suggesting to me that "tom" had no idea the young woman was underage and the police couldn't make a case in that regard so fell back on the criminal code prostitution provisons.

why else would they not charge him with exploiting a minor or human trafficking?is a 17 year old a prostitute? or is she an exploited youth? the police send such mixed messages.

i am also worried now for the rest of us. i will go to the police board as planned to highlight our plans for accreditation but will also ask the police to re-examine their policies and procedures in this regard.

the naming of perb could be seen as good or could be bad....we don't really need the feminazis showing up here....also, perb has always been very consciencious about not supporting the exploitation of youth- if people remember an advertiser who seemed a little young was asked for her ID to prove she was of legal age- i felt perb was misrepresented as supporting exploitation when in fact perb is the some of the only accountability our industry has.

it could bring more members here so that could be good, but it could draw attention from people who believe perb is part of the problem, not good.

that's all from the peanut gallery, i just hope nothing bad happens to the workers...

Few years ago in a European country with illegal immigration problems related to prostitution exploitation, they experimented with some success a law which would allow a girl forced into the sex trade to obtain a permanent resident status if she would denounce her pimp and contribute to sentence him to prison.

yes, it's the same here but there were no "trafficking"charges so they cannot apply for the special permanent residents staus and will most likely be deported.

No worries Susie. A little jail time for them may be. Execution? Nah, lmao.
i know it seemss shocking but this is what i had been told and then was confirmed by GAATW- global alliance to combat trafficking in women- that sometimes these women are executed upon arrival back in their countries of origin. GAATW also talk about how "anti-trafficking measures" can cause more harm than actual traffickers. remember, most of these micros used to be store front businesses, pushed into high rises by the 73 raids of a few years back. after that the safety of these workers deteriorated so much that 3 were murdered in one year!!

think about how corrupt things are in china....if an entire police department in juarez mexico can carry on for years raping and killing sex workers- a survivor described to me being raped in a pile of women's shoes, clothes and personal items-....just imagine what happens in china....i believe the stories of executions.

look how we are treated in canada fer christs sakes...

i do want to say though that i agree completely with pooners reporting dangerous or exploitative conditions. we just need to work on the supports put in place for these workers so we aren't causing unintended harms

I doubt execution or jail time are in their future in China. The two older women are from Taiwan and Hong Kong, not Mainland China, the younger it doesn't say. But even there, they are not going to really care what she did in Canada.

It seems to me that a lot of these mini brothels are in the human trafficing business. I'm afraid a lot of people who post here let their dicks do the thinking and turn a blind eye to this possibility. Lets hope in the future Perbites will stick to the independent ladies who offer a less illegal experience.

I'm not saying I'm perfect or better then anyone here but doesn't it seem obvious to people that a lady who has been here only a few weeks and is advertised as the newest and best thing may be a pawn in some sort of illegal operation? I alsways think about this when I read the reviews some posters write about a new young one who just arrived in Vancouver.

When it comes to age, I prefer an older lady anyhow and it limits the possibility of Chris Hansen surprising me with my pants down.

Thanks for these posts, Susi!

I for one think your concerns are for real and I wish our government would let these poor women immigrate to Canada as refugees.

You, Susi are an absolute princess for voicing these issues. I hope you've woken up at least a few pooners to reality!

I echo Bad Santa's thoughts. I agree with everything you say. Susi has long been a voice of the darkside of this industry and she should be commended for her rational opinions and feverish efforts.

I wish all the best to these women and only hope that our government will allow these women to seek asylum. We like to think we open our country to all comers but in this regard we are no better then the people of Arizona.

I heard in the news that the sting operation involved female cops. Does that mean they were posing as ladies looking for work and secretly recorded the conversations? Since there are no customers involved in the arrest, how's that going to hold up in court without those kind of evidence?
